| We were in the reserved seating and there did seem to be a decent number of Giants fans in there. Looking across there were a lot of Giants fans in the unreserved section and a very good proportion were there for all three games, which goes a long way to explaining seat choice.
I think the area below our reserved section would have been best from the standpoint of vocally supporting our lads, perhaps the club could urge the RFL to allocate our tickets on the other side next year, having had our reserved seats on the "cold side" both years at Murrayfield and now both times at the Etihad I think that not unreasonable. I feel as a group we are better than most at taking in others matches but seem to get second class treatment compared to others.

| The problem is when I suggested this quite a lot of people wanted a good view, didnt want to be in the "cold side" of the stadium and weren't prepared to sit to one side- I suggested 104 as it was slightly to the side of halfway and thought we could track further into the corner to try an please everyone-unfortunately many dismt get there quick enough and others sat right in the centre. But it did sort of work as we were clearly visible- widnes and hull kr fan friends of mine came to sit with us for our game and were pleasantly surprised by how many of us there were. Comments made on other forums have said similar too. We just have too many fans set in their ways.

| The numbers weren't a problem as there were plenty of us there but not everyone gets to the ground at the same time, some people were in the ground very early and obviously naturally went and sat in the middle blocks with the best views - but the problem there is so were fans of other clubs, meaning that only the very early Giants fans got to sit in those areas and obviously unreserved seats cannot be 'saved' for others who aren't there.
That is why we saw blocks full of fans from each club either in the corners or round the other side because they realised they couldn't all get in the popular seats so went in less populated blocks so they could all sit together and create an atmosphere.
We got in the ground around half-time of the 1st game and though there was a group of about 15 of us there were not enough seats in the middle blocks for us all ...same for those who came in even later, hence why we had pockets of 5,6 + fans all scattered round.
I understand the point about getting in early but surely its better to try and all be sat together rather than if you dont get in early then tough - sit on your own. Our fans seem to have the attitude of i've got a good seat bugger the rest where other clubs tended to try and get their own fans together, but like Jools says too many of our fans are stuck in their ways and wont change !!.

| I think if its the same set up next year I will look to going in the reserved seats.
that way I will be sat amongst our fans.
I think also one of the problems with our support is that without being disrespectful, a lot of our supporters are of the elder generation and therefore don't want to sit with other fans and sing and shout. likewise,a lot are families and couples who, again are quite happy sitting amongst their group and enjoying the match without getting involved vocally. its a sad fact that we have lost 2 generations of fans and will never get those back.
therefore at events like this, whereas most clubs have groups of young people, 18-30 who usually congregate and make noise, we don't, we have families, couples and over 55's who are quite happy just sat watching the game. its the same problem at home games unfortunately.

| Slightly off topic to start with, but brearley posted a comment to which I replied [agreeably], neither of which are now present!
I can't be bothered reposting the whole lot, but part of it was something along these lines:
Even some of the oldies, much maligned by certain posters, were encouraging others to start chanting. This was not as successful as it could have been mainly, I think, due to the spread-out nature of our fans.
I will start encouraging people to sit together via HGSA meetings and I will even ask that HGSA Examiner chappy to plug there.

| I like to join in with the chants but for me it's not the be all and end all of enjoyng the game.
Why does everyone need to sit behind the sticks?
We have lost a few generations of fans unlike the clubs who have had recent success, most vociferous are the young teen/early 20's groups with a smattering of old gits who try yo rekindle their youth (like me!)
Some of the chants the fans from differnet clubs are great, some are monotinous drivel.
the mixing of the fans and the love of the game shone through for me over the weekend, it was a tremendous affair for all concerned.
The problem is the media (mainly London based) hardly ever mentioned it, which for me is a disgrace.

11943.jpg ***************************************** Grand Children are great. We should have had them first.:11943.jpg |

| We were in the reserved 2nd tier and while we had a couple of attempts at singing and chanting there was no support from, the mainly older, fans around us. I am an OAP so age should not be an excuse. It was great to see the swathes of claret and gold int the sun on the other side.

Yet their brave bid came to a stunning end when Cudjoe stepped out of the defensive line to intercept a pass and then run away for a 90-metre effort. (Times 2)

| cheers, spot on as well but i fear next year will be the same too as the majority of our fans seem to have no interest in sitting with other Giants fans and getting behind the boys in preference for having 'a good seat in the sun' !!
We can hope though.
