Don't agree about wire- after their CC win they got an extra 2000 - that nber extra would be great for us!
I also know of a few who haven't been this year following last years disappointment- one who's been watching longer than me! We need to sustain this good stsrt- get into the final rounds of CC - then I think people will start to drift back- a change in the weather won't go amiss to helping neither!'"
see another who cant even give a ticket away to come watch the giants.
think we just have to go with what we have got...which will mean we are going to have to lower our expectations from the team and ken davy when players start leaving we cant complain

This. All day long.
Plus people tightening belts, if you've suddenly started forking out for an SL ticket, its going to be one of the first things you cut the year after. If we would have made the playoffs on the back of a decent 2nd half to the season then we would retained quite a few of the new fans, because there would have been optimism and hope for the season after. What did actually happen was that we were finally put out of our misery and left with despair and little promise of anything better.
I've a sneaky feeling and a hope also, that we can get in a final and win something this year, and its either that or at the very least another 2-3 years consistency thats going to get them back and nothing less unfortunately.

I live on a boat
I live on a boat
I'm a tax dodging b&stard
And I live on a boat: |
|
| apart from the end of season slump which started in may, this is down too money and the cost of living.as some on here know i live on a narrowboat at aspley and my cost of living is a lot lower than many.on saying that i'm also on a low wage and if i lived in a house i would also struggle to have a season ticket,i know people who never renewed because of this
as for the pondlife on the comments page on the examinar site, come May the can slide back under their stones for a few months

| the comment on there sums it up perfectly for me,about how he announced the season tickets were doubling in price,as the bulls were putting the cleaners through us in yet another awful showing.
a lot of fans already disillusioned with the club because of the on field failings will have decided there and then that that was them done.the fact that we are in a double-dip recession certainly isn't going to attract floating fans at £24 a go!
im not wanting to have a go at ken but what did he really expect? fans frustrated and fed up of the side getting hammered every week, the situation where our coach and captain had announced they were off somewhere else,he then comes out and says ,your season ticket will double in price next year!

| Qed. I said it last season and ill say it again, Nathan Brown screwed us good and proper & should have gone after Magic Weekend.
That said, while season ticket sales were naturally down I think the major problem this season so far can be split between the godawful weather and the rubbish Sky scheduling we have been lumbered with

| Lots of good points on reasons why, and food for thought for Ken and his marketing/finance teams.
Clearly there are some people who feel aggrieved about the stadium and there's not alot we can do to change that.
The match day prices are steep for the product I know I'd have to pick and choose which games I attended if I didn't have a season ticket, there's many people who do not have kids or kids under 12 which help to make it more of a family day out.
I totally disagree with Brearley on 'winning something' has little effect, it does and sustained winners generally have more fans, evidenced throughout sport in many countries.
I think the pricing has got him backed into a corner as he can't reduce the matchday price often to help market the matches as this will alienate the season ticket holders who will then think twice the following year, about its true value.
Then again he has difficulties attracting fans at the matchday price set.
Tricky position to be in unless he can come up with something that will bridge the gap for both sets of attendee.

| I might be in a minority but I'd be fine if they dropped match day prices for certain games - if it puts bums on seats
Take the Bulls v Leeds derbies, they got massive crowds on the back of massive publicity, super cheap tickets and more importantly aggressive marketing - like actually going into local workplaces and direct selling...
Say in the buildup to the home game v Leeds or Saints having the marketing team (academy squad, fringe players etc) going into each shop & office inside the ring road to offer tickets for a fiver or tenner or set up a stall in Kingsgate to sell them at cut down price to passing shoppers
Then all we need is the team not to mess up like they usually do in these situations lol
Then again, this might be the times that we are limited due to resources :/
Fwiw if we'd have won at Wembley I am sure we'd be on the 10k mark now.

| i think the major thing is prices, £24 to watch the big games yes ok can put up with that but to watch games like london widnes salford they should be lowered as there not plum matches and in recent years have just been walk overs

| Yes, if we had have won at Wembley we would have avegered 10,000 - we were regularly getting 8,000 + and the cup win would have done it i think.

This is exactly the sort of thing that should and could be done to sell the Giants. It should also be linked in with volunteers leafletting and promoting the club and inviting NEW people to the club to spend money rather than just trying to get extra money of the committed supporters who already spend a lot.

| I hope that the players are using the lower crowds as a source of motivation instead of letting it drain their enthusiasm. A bit of an up yours for the folk that have decided that they're not bothering as they think we'll fade after Easter.
It really is a pivotal time of year. I reckon if we maintain the form, keep winning and the sun comes out we may well see the numbers go up and perhaps the noise levels increase. I'm sure a small piece of all of us is waiting for us to start drifting!
