and play offs??
surely we have a stronger team now than then too...... the right choice.'"
We also had Liam Fulton who i thought had an excellent kicking game that year, and an in form Scott Moore as well as Brown and Robbo

liam fulton was brilliant!
out of all the outcomes i still wish we had kev brown and danny brough. nathan brown tried to change things up though, which turned out to be the wrong thing to do but you dont know till you try.

But things might change, people mentioning his good kicking games at Salford need to remember hes been with us longer and not been noted for his kicking in that time. Lets hope there is improvement. The Luke Robinson l've seen is a international class hooker but average half back with little kicking game.'"
but might be also a reason we did do well.
so if you would prefer to keep robbo at hooker where are you going to play faiumu?? because you cant leave this player out he is class. if you put him in the 2nd row then you will have to drop o'donnell, ferres, lawrence, chan etc
with the scenario we now have we have all the best players playing and in there correct positions...back to basics!! which is def what we needed to do after last season and the seasons befores tinkering

| I like ROBBO a great deal but I'm disappointed with this. I don't think he is a great 7. I hope to be proved wrong but doubt it.

| The thing about this is that it wont stop him scurrying from dummy half every now and then when we're on the front foot so it's not the end of the world. There's not much between 6, 7 & 9's now with full backs in there too. We are going to need the likes of Robbo to work on their kicking games though and finding the ground when kicking for position.

| Robinson did play scrum half at Wigan in the first team.
When in the (then) U19s he played did play at stand off.
Don't see any problem if they switched for various matches or during games if things need changing around.

people were worried about kicking last season, brough basically did it all on his own again, lee helped out now and again and grix but to no great effect really. although it was all behind a beaten pack.
you think grix will be ahead of eden at full back then?? eden played full back for the knights...so i think anderson will still go with eden, we shall see, grix is good cover for full back and halves'"
Purtill subbed Eden last week.
Grix & Murphy fighting for FB spot.

True enough I suppose, but with the plethora of hookers I feel its forcing our hand and I'm finding it hard to see how Robinson will become a good kicker all of a sudden. Some have said 'it can be worked on', well was that not done in the past?
Perhaps Grix will be first choice FB in which case he chips in with the boot. Its going to be very interesting season and a new way to play for us. With the size of the pack I am very much looking forward to us doing the bossing come the new season.

I know what you mean about Brown, he has gone to a side who looked like they would be active in the Transfer market and strengthen considerably, as far as i know he is the only player who looks any good!
Any chance of Anderson tapping up Brown and getting him to do a Scott Moore at Widnes so he can become a free agent and come back to the Giants?!
Some days i really rated Brown and others i wondered what he was doing, i think of special moments such as the challenge cup semi, his break and the chip from the scrum to set up a couple of tries, and how we fell to pieces in the final after his injury and it makes me appreciate how valuable he could have been. Its a void we havent managed to fill yet.
Wonder if Anderson has looked into an Oz loan signing like Fulton? A young half back that could tear it up over here, the likes of Keiran Foran have started seasons in the reserves and gone on to SOO and international by the end of the year.

yes widnes dont seem to have come up with many more big signings do they...
kev brown would of solved many problems!! treated very harsly by the giants i feel when he was told to leave..but he was injured and needed surgery...shame the change to loose forward didnt come off but the injury wont of helped the cause.
was a massive part of what the giants have achieved in his time here and will always get a warm welcome from me.

| I still think we need grix at FB- he's the only other player we have that can realistically help brough out in the kicking department.

| kicking is not alien to robinson... look at the stats on attacking kicks on the engage website
in 2007 for salford he was the main attacking kicker ahead of luke dorn
in 2008 he was only just 2nd in our team behind thorman and way ahead of kev brown
in 2009 again he was the main kicker ahead of brown
then after that in 2010 brough came in and brown partnered him them robbo started to be a hooker...
so just going to revert back to what he used to do along with brough to boot now too...
