| Frankly criticising Anderson is ridiculous.
He has to get the players who want to b e at the club to stay here and then give them a chance to work his way.

| There where other options other than Anderson and there still is. Whether it's too early to tell is also debatable. Before he took over. People were pointing to when he took over mid-season last time. So if he is winning after taking over it's not too early to judge, then it should be the same now.
Personally I think it is too early, but then I also was not of the mind that his last stint in charge was a good indicator either.
As for available proven coaches, Brian Noble would have been the obvious choice. Also I think Powell has been judged a bit harsly on here. He did not win anything at Leeds but he certainly laid the foundations for the next 10 years of success.

| Anderson needs to get something out of these players. New coaches normally start with players wanting to play for them. That hasn't happened for Anderson. If he can't motivate the current bunch what makes people think it will be different after a pre-season?

| The problem with baloo is he has been coaching this squad for a lot longer than just since he officially took over from nb, yes he inherited the squad of players other than ferres who looks decent, but there has been no improvement at all since brown left, in fact i would argue we look a far worse team, baloos record in 2 stints is shocking 7 wins in 18 games, bottom of the table stuff i'm afraid. That said and i've been saying it for ages the players have a lot to answer for, its not all down to the coach past or present, baloo does need to sort his man management out though, i dont think he is the answer will give him until may next year.

| Someone has already said part of the problem
We start well then collapse
This issue is 100% down to Brown and his ridiculous strategy. We have 2 props and some beefed up back row forwards.
Once Mason and Crabtree are spelled that's when we lose the game.
And that's all down to Browns team building at the start of the season.
Baloo was handed a poison chalice and has done ok with it, given he was given very little to work with

the strategy has def gone wrong! best to write of this one and start a fresh for next year and get it right..the recruitment looks good for next season and much more balanced

| Let Anderson build his own squad and judge him on how well he motivates them and how well his tactics work with them.
He can't be judged on much yet I don't feel.

| I was happy with Andersons appointment and really wanted him to have a chance after serving his 'apprenticeship' under brown. I just hope he sticks with his word, we have been pretty woeful in the last few weeks, and he started out by saying reputation didnt matter, if people werent up to it, they wouldnt be played, i want to see that happen. I just want a coach who is going to be honest, and give his all like the players should.
I know nobody on here likes him, but i think it would have been worthwhile us getting someone like Nobby on board during Andersons first few seasons. I can see Anderson trying to build a big team of forwards with some powerful backs, like Nobby did with Bradford, and i think his knowledge and experience would help us massively!

| As with any coach in charge of the giants i want them to succeed, but sadly i do feel that PA although a outstanding player in his day is just that A PLAYER!, its been said time and time again that great players dont necessary make great coaches.
PA imo has had as much imput in the squad makeup for this season as any other coach at the club (NB told me himself "i'd lost the dressing room"icon_wink.gif this was through a couple of players showing no respect for the coaching team and what they were trying to do, this said has PA now got the respect back or is he as i believe lacking technical know how, game planning & motivationel skills this is evident with the appointment of KP & CT, who have both been brought to assist meening that we have 3 people doing the job of 1.
coaching is not about bringing a group of players together and getting them to play, its about getting more from players on game day then the sum of the parts. A number of coaches have done this at clubs this year - Bradford, Halifax, Batley, Catalans and more recently Wakefield indevidually the players are good to average but with the correct coaching in place the team performance is 9 times out of 10 outstanding. (this is how i have aproached every coaching role i have had over the past 20 years (both in the community game and the rep game) it has served me and my fellow coaches well which is evident with a number of our more recent alumni being named in the national train on squad announced this week
Please note that this is my oppinion only and i really do want whoever is in charge at Huddersfield to be a success not so much for us the fans but for uncle Ken, this guy is the beating heart of the club and we all know what happens if you rip the heart from anything.

Baloo has been coaching for several years and has been coached by coaches who win silverware. Does it matter home many times people have come up with that saying? Bennett, Haseler and Noble were all top players and have succeeded, so have ordinary players like Bellamy and Tony smith. Some top players have been hopeless coaches (Schoey!). How any of this makes any difference to Anderson is beyond me!

Are you serious? All your info on your extensive coaching knowhow and you make comments like those above.
they are called assistants...every coach has them!
anderson and lolesi were helping brown out this season.
Anderson is building the team for next season so judge him then, not now when the season was over for us a long time ago.

Much truth in this ^ the mobile football early on was great to watch, but once the rest sussed it,by rushing up on the edges and then hammering our interchange down the middle, the game was up.
One thing that is bugging me as of now though is we see the same gash week on week, running sideways, some looking like their minds are on an Australian beach, forwards unable to get over the gainline, getting dominated in collision, and only Chan looking like he might possibly bust a tackle.
PA said he would come in 'big stick wielding' and kicking the booty of the none performers,so why isn't he carrying out that threat.
