| Think the OP seems to have got confused about RHP's role here - its not just a role or a title that we have given to an ex-player, it is a position that became vacan that was advertised, Robbie had just finished his playing career and applied for the job as he had the relevant credentials for it and saw it as an opportunity for him to make use of his degree and knowledge of the club and the game in general.........i think it is a hugely positive thing for him , the Giants and Rugby League in general to have someone like Robbie around.
Not sure whether its a personal issue or not with the OP but he seems to be trying to have a dig somewhere !!.

| I was chatting to Marcus st hilaire recently -asking him what he was up to-he was actually quite bitter about the fact that he (and he said paul reilly) had applied for a couple of jobs recently at the giants but had not been given them. It doesn't appear that the club appoint ex players purely on the basis they are ex players.
Robbie Paul has one of the highest profiles in the game with tonnes of contracts what better way to raise the profile of the club-which is what his job is about. The fact that we are bringing in more supporters than ever -and especially our away following increase suggests he's doing something right!

| To be fair, I'd rather a properly qualified person got jobs like these
Giving jobs to old boys can end up in disaster

Spot on. You've got to give jobs to those who are best qualified.
Rhp was and is. Doing an excellent job and using his fans survey results to focus his actions in the areas that we wanted the club to do.
Great asset to giants.

| I'd have thought RH-P was eminently suited for the post at Hudds. If the OP's intention was to have a dig, surely Fozzard at Cas would've been a better target?

| jools, to be fair, if you spoke to junior and asked him what club he was a player for, he'll say Leeds, not Huddersfield

| Daz's post was taken by a lad who'd been with the rfl, the community guys only get 18000 which is naff for all the hours the do!
They are paid by the charity not the giants anyhow.....
Robbie seems to being doing a great job though, a difficult job. finding new speccies & sponsors well until we win something.

| I loved Robbie with his State of the Art white board at Rent a Shed on Saturday, rumour has it that a certain Gary Neville wants to buy it, Mr stats Clarke was green with envy.
