Exactly, the RFL have acted to protect professional RL in Bradford without treating Bradford Bulls differently from any other club. Before someone mentions Wakey, they did not have stadium or a long lease to sell and apear to be doing just fine now.

| Banter aside, I think it's really sad to see such a big club struggle like this, and wonder how many others are not far from a similar fate.
I for one hope they pull through, it's another RL club ATEOTD, not a football club who spend far more on wages for overpaid 'superstars' who get paid more in a week than most RL players earn in a year.
There's been talk about the SL having too many clubs and therefore the money (sky) being spread too thin, it events like this that make me think maybe there are too many and we should reduce the league to 12, which would improve the quality and make the games tougher.
Clearly the upkeep of Odsal must have a part to play too (stewards/insurance/rates etc.), maybe they'll have to share the facilities at Valley Parade and cut costs (not to mention better facilities for the paying public), there's a few other clubs who have gone down that route.

| The money men at bulls must have known how close to the edge they were when they applied for a franchise. They should have done the decent thing and withdrawn their application.

| The one thing this thread tells me is that people are concerned over our pack. Everyone has suggested going after a forward or two, nobody has suggested a back or even Sammut - one of the most creative players currently in Superleague.
Interesting thought isn't it?

Peter Hood said at the forum we voted for Stobart. Could be yet another lie though

If they'd taken the Betfair deal Bradford would have had about £18,000, that'd hardly make a blind bit of difference to their present plight.

| In terms of this 'Pledge' thing they are doing.
No monies will be exchanged right now and all they are asking is people call them up and suggest a figure they will donate should a target be reached. Didn't they do the exact same thing for the last couple of seasons with their cheap season tickets and sell them at £69 each or something.
If they only managed 12,000 pledges when there was 13 home games of rugby on offer, what are they going to manage when there is nothing?
For some reason I thinking 'publicity stunt' and I cannot think why.

| It seems that the Bulls finances were in order, or no worse than many, many businesses are. The only issue is that their bank withdrew their overdraft facility - as has happened with many, many businesses.
the real question is why did the RBS withdraw their credit

Their only asset was given to the RFL to pay off a debt?
