| Interesting how this topic has now come up again. As i highlighted it is important Giants fans get up to speed on what is happening here as it has major potential ramifications for the club.
As i stated i support both clubs but the facts are Ken Davy moved the HTAFC shares into his company Huddersfield Sporting pride when he owned HTAFC. Whatever you think of that he got those shares for £2. Dean Hoyle rightly in my view wants town to have the shares back and offered a massive amount to Ken Davy for the shares back(allegedly) that is what the hassle is now about. Whoever you want to blame if it is not sorted these are the problems.
Giants cannot exist alongside KSDL in the stadium without HTAFC look at the rental payments in the Examiner. If HTAFC now push the fans not to support KSDL and Ken Davy KSDL will suffer financialy and will have to be propped up by Ken Davy as he owns 60%. Meaning he has less money to back the Giants he may have so much that is not a problem. However worse than that is the hatred and split which is now only going to get worse that will not help us hit our 10k crowd target as we simply wont get there without the backing of the floaters. Also now the abuse rightly or wrongly is going to heap on Ken Davy lets hope as he gets older as a wealthy man he doesnt decide the whole thing is not worth the hassle

So Hoyle wants the shares for nowt now just to reap off 40% profit on the stadium in years to come but does not want to take on any of the debt responsibility that Sir Ken has incurred over the last few years to try & make KSDL profitable, and at the same time as sorting out the farce that was KSDL,Sir Ken was running 2 pro sports clubs making a loss.
As the Conn article says the admin said KD's offer for the bankrupt soccer was the only viable one.
Sir Ken got the soccer 40% in KSDL for £2 for one reason & one reason only because HTAFC went bankrupt due to a bloke called Rubery, the 40% was worth absolutely nowt until someone made KSDL profitable,& Sir Ken was the one who tried to make KSDL profitable.
Mate the hatred comes only 1 way from the soccer towards us
Sir Ken has faced these soccer haters down before, and he will do so again. He is 70 years old,but as they say nowadays 70 is the new 50 people are so much fitter now than what they were, and Sir Ken as always thrives on the backing of the ultra enthusiastic Giants fans.

| sorry but that is rubbish Dean Hoyle put a very fair offer ie millions to ken for the shares back more than covering what he invested in HTAFC. KSDL wil only be successful and make a profit with both clubs backing and unless this is sorted quick the damage both financially and in goodwill to the giants could be extensive

| Why are you making a big issue about the shares going for £2,like I said the soccer club was bankrupt,so was ksdl because of £7M borrowed against the building of the north stand.
The 40% soccer shares Ken got were worth feck all,how long will it take for soccer munters to let that sink in.They would only become profitable on the back on Sir Kens efforts at making ksdl a success.
Before that it was a huge fecking disaster the soccer under rubery & ksdl under collinge.Ken came in and tried to sort out the mess when the rest of the soccer guys who so loved Town were out to lunch when it came to saving their beloved club & of course KSDL.

| The council statement was pretty clear, they were happy for shares to revert to Town on condition they (Kirklees) reverted to previous arrangements. The actual rent payments are set out in the Stadium agreement, however in Town's hour of need KD & Kirklees both agreed to pick up a greater share. If the shares revert so should the formula (the Kirklees statement states it has not actually changed it in the agreement but by custom the Giants have paid more).
Its pretty clear to me that Hoyle has attempted brinksmanship, KD has stood firm and now the Jakey from Wakey is trying to stir up the Town fans. That will make things more difficult for Giants in the short term, but longer term the profits will come not from rent payments but the HD one development.
Even if KD was completely in the wrong Hoyle is pretty stupid to have issued his statement as it is a public justification for KD to have nothing to do with him.

| Seems to me that DH's statement says 'the changes' were something trivial so he's opted out of signing on principle maybe ??.... KD says they were important to the Giants and he made some changes asked for by HTAFC anyway.
Idiots on the Town message boards and in person are now calling themselves tennants and wanting to move to the Shay ! Surely they would be HTAFC.... but with Halifax instead of Huddersfield......
I'm sure HTAFC will get 'their ' shares back but the agreement should be fair to all three parties and have a clause that stops all this 'you'll be out when we are in the 'premier League' once and for all. The shares after all took into account matches played in the stadium so 40% 40% and 20% reflected each parties contribution so of course HTAFC paid more they play a minimum of 23 games whereas the Giants play a minimum of 13 so proceeds as and when should also be on staggered distribution.
However for many years the RFL have put internationals and semi finals Huddersfields way on top of the Giants contributions which hasn't happened from the soccer side.
AND FINALLY !! Which team rented the Shay and played home matches there last year ?? It wasn't HTAFC so the 'tennant' stayed 'put' and the owners played in Halifax to let the pitch be relaid somehow that doesn't reflect any form of unfair tennant owner relationship to me.
Seems KD is a somewhat tougher cookie than DH is used to dealing with in the greetings card industry !! hence his outburst obviously mentioning the 'special relationship' and no its not the one with the USA... its the HTAFC fans of course !!! seems the Giants and KD got there first on that one !!

| it seems as though its kirkless council that have moved the goal posts....giants just sticking to the deal that was already in place
so the dumb football fans need to lay off ken davy/giants and start with the council.

| only just read todays examiner, i was going on saturdays piece ... and hoyles statement just makes it worse!
ken davy agrees to give the shares back based on what was agreed at the start of the partnership with giants/town/council...not on the one which he saved town on..
hoyle trying to tarnish SIR ken davys name

| This whole stadium share thing is not good for either sports team, I love both clubs and I will for the rest of my life and it's such a shame this share handover has not been sorted out yet. Either something has gone on that we dont know about or certain people are causing pointless delays. I just want it sorting out sooner rather than later if not no doubt both football and Rugby fans will start falling out and a divide will start again which is just stupid. We both play at a fantastic sporting venue, we are Huddersfield so let's sort this out and see both teams succeed in the near future.

| Let's see who we're against here. We're against brain-dead Town fans, who say things like:
'The man is morally bankrupt and for someone who purports to have the best interests of sport in the town at heart'
'It is my recollection that the Giants brought very little to the "party,"'
'Sorry Joe, I know why the Giants fan part of you loves the guy, but think you're clutching at some pretty thin straws there to try and defend him from a Town fans perspective.
i never really understood why the Giants were ever awarded 20% at all, baring in mind they contributed nothing.'
'Forgive my inevitable ignorance but if we achieved significant success (ie; full houses in the Premier) then the natural move would be for the rugby team to play elsewhere!'
They're planning a large scale protest against the 'Villain' Davy. If we can make a 'Well Done Wire' sign, surely we can show a little thanks for the fantastic chairman we have when everyone seems to be against him!

Hand them back for £2, yes. Davy has (quite rightly) said that, although the 40:40:20 deal was set up in the first place, the Giants bring more to the table now than 10 years ago, so deserve a higher % I believe.

As town fans, they are superior to Rugby, so deserve 'their' shares back. If Hoyle's so great, he should buy them back as you say, at full price.
