| One bad game? Have you seen many Giant's games since May? We've been awful this second half of the season, I mean actually woeful; which culminated last Friday with a well deserved thrashing. Why should people pay out £15 to watch their team not even show up? People want to be entertained, entertaining matches have been far and few in-between for the second half of the season for Giants fans.

| Over the years i have learnt to be less critical of our fans particularly on the forums.
I am not surprised at last nights turnout and i do not blame anyone of them for not attending.
We have been poor for a long time, fans are disillusioned, money is tight, it was on TV, kids and their mums dont go to evening KOs EVERYONE one of them has their reasons for not going. It is their choice.
Coming on here and slagging our fans off hardly does anything to improve the situation.
Get out ansd build the club rather than pasively stand by and slag everyone off. Connorgiants fan has the right idea. He is getting people to come to games, a lot more useful than posting on a forum how crap everyone else is to make your self feel better.

What's happened to the 20k Bradford used to get? Where have Wire's full houses come from?
Fickle fans are what big crowds are made of and they want to see a winning team. So why not have a bit of realism and stop bloody whinging.'"
I read this and honestly couldn't believe it, I agree, fans are fickle but not to this extent.
Basically what you are saying is that despite having a reasonably good season, finishing 4th in the league and putting in some great performances along the way, ONE drubbing and that's it? Time to put the scarf and rattle away?
Talk about your major dummy spit, you get your ar[sizes[/sizees handed to you ONCE and you're not bothered any more.
Bradford's 20k didn't disappear over night, Warrington didn't turn up to the Halliwell Jones one Friday evening and suddenly there was 10K more home fans.
As the OP stated "the most fickle fans in SL" and on the above post I'm finding it hard to disagree with them.

Oh for goodness sake 'making myself feel better' give it a rest! Everyone has the right not to turn up but the point is 'after one bad game' that's the point - yes we've been inconsistent but as Fat Boy says a major dummy spit by our own fans. As for fans being dissillusioned? we finished 4th.

Why have I turned up week in, week out to watch the Rhinos go through an awful season, getting spanked by the top 4 (well three). I've paid for away tickets that have cost up to around £19. I've paid for the challenge cup run, both play off games and not been entertained one bit at some games. Crusaders away being the prime example.
Fickle is the best word to describe them!

Spot on
And last nights turnout from us was poor, getting 4th spot meant we had the advantage of being at home last night, did the fans help make that advantage count

| I'm not meaning to be controversial here, but I've never seen a massive support for the Giants at the Galpharm Stadium at any time I've ever been there. The place is never full in the way you see at Wigan, Warrington etc. But thats just the way it is when the place and the town are sharing support with a football club I guess. It's slightly different at Wigan where the town is known as a RL town first footy town second. The Giants obviously have their loyal core support, but they'll probably never have quite the same numbers as Wigan, Wire, Saints, Leeds etc.......

Where has this one bad game come from
My sister sent me a text midweek asking if i was going to the game this weekend as she was thinking about not going. I texted back and said why was she not going and she responded with , Wire, Bradford, Wigan, crusdaers.
she did not think she could take anymore and felt we would have no chance.
We have won 4 games in the last 15. Support and confidence has been draining away for the last 4 months.
Whilst i wanted us to win last night i am partly relieved we didnt because i could guarantee i would spend 50 or 60 quid next week , drive 250 miles to Warrington to watch us get tonked and then i wold have been feeling really C R A P at that point.
If we had sneaked a win yesterday ourv players would have ben exhausted next week. At least we went out gallantly rather than being routed.
( in the end all of the family went)

| i know our turnout was poor, but out of all the play off games this year, i bet only one team managed to get a crowd that was more than their average for the season.. granted a lot of the fans came from leeds, but wire had only 10,000 last week which is well below average and wigan-saints got a massive crowd of 14,000?.. also below average, its not just the giants is it?

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |

| There were 3,000 people less there than 2 weeks ago.
Wigan Saints in the league had 24,000 there. In the play offs there were just shy of 13,000 there a drop off of 11,000.
Leeds Hull in the league had 14,000 in the play offs 9,000 a drop of 5,000.
Warrington had about the same crowd and Catalans had gone up slightly.
Warrington were getting the league leaders shield and have a great chance of there first Superleague title. Catalan were playing Hull KR who seem to regularly attract good attendances in the play offs
Apart from that it seems that there is a problem with fans attending play offs in this country full stop.
Looking back at previous seasons it seems to be a problem that occurs all the time. Some games are well attended others see drops of 3,000 to as many as 8,000 from regular season attendances.

| We got more for Catalan and Cas games in play off games in past seasons though. Last night I believe our late season form just eroded the confidence of the fickle fans. They didn't think we would win. And equally that was why Leeds came in better numbers than the league game; they were confident of a win.

| Of course our form is important. Last year though we had momentum and genuine hope going into the play offs and only managed 5,000 against Crusaders. This year given how we were playing I'm surprised even 50 people turned up to be honest. I had to think very hard about it and I've not missed a home game since about 1994.
As an aside our attendance against Catalan was about 1,500 down on the league fixture that year. Again though we had only stuttered into the play offs and came into the game off a loss to Saints.
