Nah was definately an elbow. Roberts was just trying to flip over to get the defenders off him and caught him square in the jaw. Unfortunate.

I've said from the very start that he will come into his own playing permanently at full back, very please and happy for the guy as he always gives 100%. I see a 2-3 year extension coming his way in the next few months.

As for the elbow incident, was sat fairly close and it looked to hit him in the eye for me - though I had had a few by that point icon_wink.gif so will have to watch it on the replay.

Great under the high ball, looks very self assured, and what I like about him is that he'll take the hits too which is something Brett didn't do when returning the kick.

Brett was awesome, but Grix is not far behind and will improve.

Definitely my MOM. In the most pressure game so far , he was coolest personified. His performance under those bombs must be giving confidence to the rest of team and oppositions are going to have find something better than a high bomb to him on the 5 th. Defensively brilliant. And best he has been linking into attack so far this year, and hopefully more of this to come.
His best giants performance.

I think that was more to do with Brough's excellent kicking rather than anything else. Grix looked good but I think he would have struggled with those huge bombs too.

remember when it was announced that brett was leaving, and there was mass panic on here over who we would sign to replace him,a few of us though assured everyone that grix would be number 1 and would be a more than adequate replacement.

brett who?? icon_smile.gif

He's been immense this season and is getting better every game - yet another example of our coaching talents?? a decent player at Wakey who didnt really have a set position within a few months is up there with the best fullbacks in SL.
I also think BH needs some credit in this too because no doubt Grixy will have learnt loads from him and he will no doubt have passed some advice and tips on to him......anyway carry on Grix - Ireland's number 1, Ireland Ireland's number 1 icon_smile.gif

Not only MoM, but he's my Man of the Season so far.

Brough was expected to do well as was Eorl and the other 'stars'. But Grix was seen as a last resort because we couldn't sign anyone.

Brilliant, well done Scott, keep it going.

Wonder if Wigan fans will turn on Roberts like a lot of Giants fans turned on our full back who was destroyed in a game by Broughs kicking icon_confused.gif:
