I genuinely thought it was a knock on from us (Cas) hence why he called it back, if not, surely it's play on!!! Haha he made some weird calls today. I love the way he gets as close as he can to the ruck, barely checking for offside / onside.
He's one of the worst refs in the league, however that's through shier incompetence rather then favouritism.

| He signalled a double knock on so if that was the case the scrum was correct. Alibert allowed a lot of holding down from both sides but otherwise was not too bad.
First half was ok and their try just before half time had a big element of luck. Second half was shocking to many mistakes and not enough effort. Credit to Cas though they were excellent and would have given any side a game today. Chase totally ran the game.
I thought Griffin,Patrick and Cudjoe were our pick today.
As for Brough he was brought as a scrum half so why play him as a replacement hooker. He has played well the last few weeks so why swap him and Drew around.
Nathan Brown is showing some strange tactics recently. Late in the second half he takes Griffin and Patrick off at the same time (who are were only two forwards with any go forward) an plays with one prop for the remainder of the game when it was clear all game our forwards had been struggling to cope with the Cas pack. Very poor tactics IMO.

| Agree totally. N Brown seems to have lost his mind a little, I understand he wants them all to be 'versatile' and be able to cover a range of positions BUT if they are great in one position why change them to play somewhere they are distinctly average (i.e Lunt moving from hooker to loose just for one example!). He also used some bizarre interchanges which buggered us up totally. Castleford definately deserved the win, they took every chance whereas we bombed every one after the first 10 minutes practically. I was cringing at the beginning with the chants of 'easy, easy', thats always a dead cert that we are going to get battered in the end and it happened!
As far as people calling Brough, he did have a nightmare game and as he was brought in because of his 'awesome kicking game' he is going to get some stick when he can't fulfill that.
Very disappointing. I can only hope NB comes to his senses for sundays game and picks the right players for the right positions.

| We seem to have far too many half's and Nathan Brown is trying to find a position for all of them. Hen needs to decide who his first choice half backs are and stick with them.

| Well Done to Cas, always is a close game against you guys and tend to try play rugby how it should be played, the SL is a better place with teams like Cas and the Giants in it so long may it continue, as for ourselves, we have blown up again at the back end of the season and will be lucky to make play offs on current form.
Rapidly going backwards at the moment and new ideas and methods req IMO.

I think the call was double knock-on, first by Hudds, then by Cas – which is why he called it back for a set scrum rather than playing advantage.

There 10 types of people in this world.... Those that understand the binary system and those that dont: |
|
| Fair play to Cas they played us off the park over the 80mins. i dont think we can call NB for squad selection when he has limited choices of who he can play. i think he realised we have only two regular "big guys" in the squad in griffin and mason and mason was patched up to play. NB seemed to be saying we aint gonna be able to play through em so lets get our ball players in there to go round em... i think that at ten minutes in we would all agree it seemed like a master stroke. Mason went off and stayed off leaving only Griff and Patrick who plays like he is a bigun able to make much headway. I thought Horne was asked to do a job that wasnt his normal game and he did it resonably well but he would never claim to be a prop. We didnt have the rub of the green at times including dodgy's charlie chaplin impression and our heads went in response to that.

| I said during the game that we have too many playmakers in the team and no one seems to know who's supposed to be pulling the strings - look at Cas, they had Rangi Chase and he pummelled us all afternoon with his kicks, his passing his organisation, we got the ball and it was almost a case of you have it this isn't my play !!

You never know about the future
As for brough he may be better next season due to the pre season etc, but for this season i have not rated him at all, just not good enough.
