| I wouldn't boo the team, I might shout at them when they play as bad as Sunday but never boo them. As for clapping the opposing team onto the field, I don't see a problem. Creating an "intimidating" atmosphere can often lead to a team playing better cf Huddersfield at Keighley in the Challange Cup in 1995. To be fair if the other team scores a good try, or put in a good passage of play or make a good tackle, even if it prevents a try for us, then I'll applaud them, it's just curtesy.

| Quote: Durham Giant "have the fans learnt nothing from last season when Thorman got booed after dropping a bomb against wakefield i think then everyone booed him.
You could see the confidence drain out of him and he lost it for the rest of the season.
will it make the team play better
I agree entirely. We have every right to be frustrated when the performance is poor, ( I'm sure the players don't play poorly on purpose) but booing is hardly going to inspire them to improve. Even if it makes the person booing feel better.
Also, I felt embarrassed when some fans cheered when KB found touch with his kick. Same thing happened at Warrington with Brett Hodgson when he caught a high kick after the Leeds game.

| have to say the booing got right on my tips, but then i had some fella behind me that loved the sound of his own voice sat right behind me.
"run straight cudjoe ya clown" closely followed by "the wing was wide open why dont you go round em you muppett" was the general tone.
i found myself trying to cheer on any glimpse of something positive.
i just dont get how negative people can be we are top end of the table have given the top teams in the league a good run for there money we have a new coach who is new to SL his ideas and team is developing at a pace greater than any of us could have fairly expected before the season started.
yep that was a poor performance but we are gonna have them from time to time certainly leeds and saints have this season so i dont think we are bad company.
in comparison to the dish served up when my dad started taking me to fartown back in the early eighties we have come a long long way.

Correct. I stand and applause the opposition at every home game upon them entering the field.

maybe our fans are getting just as complacent as the team at the moment thinking we can just turn up.. and feeling sorry for the away team having not many away support'"
I clapped Salford when they came out, just as I wore a Widnes shirt and sacrificed a sheep when we entertained the Crusaders.
The sad truth is we are a bunch of boring farts at the Galpharm, it must be depressing turning out week after week in a stadium that resembles a fridge. The atmosphere is as flat as a witches tit and that hacks me off more than the below par performances to be honest. So maybe we all need to take a clse look at ourselves as fans and then we might see that we actually have a team that gives us as good as they get back (not alot).

| The atmosphere has been at times rather flat this season but then so have the performances at home generally. The singing section do their bit so I don't think that area has anything to look at itself about.
We need a couple of consecutive decent performances at home.

| If they want to be peurile then let them.
Nothing wrong with giving the opposition a quick clap when they come on. I always give them a couple of claps when they come on and if they score a particularly good try I might clap a few times as well. Not like I'd clap my lot, but there's no harm in applauding good play and showing a little respect to the opposition.

Because we can all sit in the stands safely knowing that our every move is not been scrutinised by 6000+ folk and we are not gonna be put on our by a 17st hulk at anytime.
Easiest game in the world from where we all sit, if they are playing garbage then leave early by all means, but please don't boo em.
No team/player ever goes out with the intention of losing and Sunday was a bad day at the office for all concerned but lets not underestimate Salford who did also beat Leeds!!!!!
