To be honest would rather keep Giants and relegate London and hope Leigh win championship playoffs. Good away game is Giants and they bring at least 300 to us. What do London bring about 20. Same will be if Toronto come in and Leigh brought over 500 last time they came to us.

I can definitely see the attraction of promoting a team representing a small borough in Wigan and retention of a team representing a small town in West Yorkshire on the basis of away fan following. |

We have a small budget like some other teams so need all the revenue we can get. You don’t get compensated for teams entering the league that have no following as far as I am aware.

For a start we have no problem losing to London under any circumstance, they have easily outclassed us twice this season so we don't need to lose on purpose. Secondly, do you really think we care who gets relegated so long as it's not us! |

So being realistic, Giants and Leigh would bring say 500 combined more fans than Broncos @ £15/head, a 'loss' of £7,500 * 2 (for Toronto) = £15,000
One way to look at that is if Trin are that hard up they a relying on that £15,000 then we as a Super League are in trouble, but another way to look at is to sell the idea of London and Toronto to new fans, and maybe those 'missing' fans could be offset by 'new' fans. |

Why is it automatically assumed that revenue is the only element people are alluding to when talking about away fans?
Would rather go to a game with a bit of atmosphere, and actually enjoy seeing and having a chat with away fans on game day (Most of them) rather than staring at a empty away stand with silence when there team score.
By the way your calculations are completely wrong, I think every Hudds fan on here will agree when I say they brought way more than 250 fans to Belle Vue on there visits this season, probably closer to 1000. Leigh also usually turn out in good numbers of around 1000, so straight away your estimation would go from 500 to 2000 - Where are you factoring in food and drink in your calculations? Our chairman has openly said drinks is one of our biggest revenue streams so just wondering how much of that is from the away fans? Please enlighten us? Also where does your figure of £15 come from?£25 for an adult ticket, £10 for a Junior - Even if you split Adult/Juniors 50/50 you still would get an average of £17.50 and it is nowhere near the 50/50 - At a wild guess (As yours purely is) I would say closer to 80/20 Adult to Junior ratio, giving on average of around £22.
Still not a massive amount of revenue, but don`t try falsely manipulating figures to suit your agenda.

hands are pretty much tied with salary cap, they tried to offload roberts and swap for hampshire recently but player changed mind. |

My agenda is simple, every club has a right to be in SL regardless of away following. If you want to offset the lack of atmosphere or revenue, think outside the box as its not the responsibility of the away team.
Note, our game with HKR has today been moved to a midweek night from a Sunday, no doubt our support that night will be under the microscope. |
