Not at all the post was borne out of frustration and I wasn't blaming the club but rather the individuals who disappeared from the week before.
For more than 50 years I have stood on the terraces through thick and thin and watched thin a lot more than thick incidentally, so where is it so wrong to ask an obvious question?
In the area where I sit it was obvious that many super league regulars were missing however yesterday Castleford only got 3,317 so that must have been the case there too.
So I apologise to all the people that didn't turn up and have to accept that what appears to be an old fashioned ideal that I have that the Challenge Cup and a visit to Wembley is one of the highlights of the season is really just a distraction from what's really important.
It's not that long ago albeit at ten quid a ticket we got 9,000 to a challenge cup tie with Leeds.
Where both clubs were in the league shouldn't have mattered as knockout football is always fascinating to watch but then the 'stay aways' missed a really good cup tie but maybe that's just good old fashioned me speaking.

No need to apologize mate people don't have to answer if they don't want. I think a better question than do we deserve a rugby team might be. Does Huddersfield want a rugby team, The clear answer to that is , A few do , the majority care either way as long as they are not expected to go down.

Castleford only got a little over 3000 for their cup tie on a Saturday afternoon. Funnily enough no dig from Peter smith of the Yorkshire evening post for that crowd figure. But then he's not a Salford fan he's a Leeds fan so didn't feel the need to put in a dig like he did against us.
Crowd numbers for the challenge cup rounds have been steadily dropping- given the way it's scheduled it's not surprising really.

Think you make a good point here.
It makes you wonder how many years it is going to take for enough of the post 1960's Huddersfield public to get Rugby League truly into their blood, because if it's not truly in the blood then they might/probably will take it if they get a freebie or well reduced price - but otherwise will just leave it.

| You only have to look over at Bradfords time line From the heights of Bullmania to where they are now in order to see how a huge fanbase slowly dwindled away.
The truth of it all is that, other than the hardcore fans the rest are a fickle bunch who demand sustained success.
Success = fans.
Leaves a sour taste in the mouth but it's an unavoidable truth....

I respect your opinion to which you are fully entitled, but we don't even have a sizable fickle bunch unfortunately.

| The Giants have some very loyal supporters and ertainly deserve a SL team, but the question was do Huddersfield, and the answer to that is NO. l go to the gam and back by bus an foot, and its always groundhog day. "are the giants playing today", no lm in fancy dress., " l was going to go but " out comes the book of excuses.
Same on the way home, "how did they get on", l usually ignore them.
lf we get to Wembley there will be 20000 plus all professing to be lifelong supporters.
l have said it before. the general public of Huddersfield are some of the most tight fisted miserable folk l have ever met
and they deserve what they get

I've heard all the arguments over the years but I think this sum it up perfectly.
I'm Huddersfield born and bred and generally I believe we are in the main friendly and generous in spirit.
BUT........
Given the chance for a good old moan and / or complaining at being asked to fork out some money then we must be somewhere near the top of the list.
I missed Fridays game because of a pre arranged event but was texting someone at the game all the way through wishing I was there.
Sounded a belter.
