| Quote thepimp007="thepimp007"As a few on here will know (especially Brearley haha) im not a fan of Cudjoe but thought he showed up really well for you guys last night. I managed to get you guys at +16 on the handicap too which seemed too generous to miss out on. Only downside I saw was I felt a bit for young Mason seemed to struggle in collision and got knocked back a few times and expected a bit more from a lad his size. Josh Johnson impressed me seemed very keen and I think Murphy showed (as he always does) why he needs to be at full back gets through an absolute ton of work! really felt for you guys at the end but a very enjoyable game and im sure you will build on it'"
if you watched leroy week in week out you would see what a class player he is.
mason i agree with such a big lad but props domt come of age till around 28-30? could have 10 years in the game and just get better

| The best thing about last night for me was it was above all a team effort, and the defence was superb, There were some great individual performances as well, That was for me was Ellis's best show yet, could well be something to do with Brough's absence, I am not his biggest fan at half but fair play to him he had a great game.
Maybe this will put an end to the (they are not ready for Super league yet talk ) they showed last night that they are ready ,given the chance. It was good to see Foster play OK as well, and Murphy just looks a natural full back.
Cudjo had a very good game, as did Hinchcliffe, Conner has talent, but he needs to pack in with the penalties. We would have beaten most sides last night, but Wigan are very clever and very Professional in the way they play the Ref and Benson leaves a lot to be desired as Ref's go. At the end of this season Wigan will be right there, they have a lot of top players, That just highlights how well the Giants went, We need that same attitude and effort against the lesser sides and all will be well.
I would think if Foster stays he will be main Kicker, It has always been his strong point ( don't know if he still has it ) that said he has always been a good finisher as well, The thing is , his defence didn't look so catastrophic last night as it is said to be, I thought he did well.

For me the key thing was just 5 players were complete regulars in the positions they play last season,
Cudjoe, Jerry, Ellis, Lawrence and taai.
The rest were either not at the club, playing out of their normal positions or not regulars.
Our left hand side had never met before last week let alone played and trained together.

| Credit to the Giants, defended really well, all the young lads stood up fine, bode,s well for the future, Ellis/Conner, looks a promising pairing (Conners disipline needs sorting)
Did not deserve to loose, but our problem still remains we carn,t close out close games, wrong option by Ellis with minutes to go, l think we should have ground out the set, turned over on the Wigan line. they got the 20 restart, broken play, and again we pay the price.
Really looking forward to see how these young ones perform as the season goes on, Baloo, had to play them, but l hope that when the established players are fit again they have to fight for their places, and not just have them handed back on a plate.

exactly jools, even though wigan had 2/3 regulars missing they were still able to bring in experienced players in positions natural to them, how many of the wigan side wouldn't usually be in the 17? possibly Tierney and Burke?

| Quote scosha="scosha"Wrong result tonight! All the players raised their game and should be proud of their efforts tonight. Particular praise to Jamie Ellis, Sam Wood and all the other young'uns chucked in at the deep end against a decent Wigan side.
Sam Tomkins, sat just behind us in the stand, also seemed relieved when the final whistle sounded.
PS; apologies for my big screen gesticulation aimed particularly at Bentham and Matty Smith - not big or clever!! (Hope my Dad wasn't watching!!)'"
Just seen that...naughty boy !!!

| A performance pull of grit determination and effort. THis was something that on occassions last year we lacked. That to me was the real positive. Some great individual performances.. Leroy has really carried on from last season.
It is a long time since i have seen a Giants prop run on to the ball the way Rapira does..
Despite what people have said about Ellis i thought our kicking game both long and short was dire.
I also think that whatever the question is at half back Connor is not the answer. He neds to stick to playing than getting drawn into niggle.
Sad to say but with Brough playing last night we would have won.
