Thought someone on here said his dad started the rumour at Newsome and it's spread like wildfire???

No doubt if he does decide to move on the naysayers will be claiming we "let" him go. Some players are one man clubs- others like a new challenge occasionally- and dare I say it the bigger chance to win silverware.
We can't pay everyone what they want due to the salary cap- folk moan that we don't make loads of big signings, we've signed hinchcliffe and rapira- but as a result those people will moan that we can't keep other players as we have only a certain amount of money to go round the rest.

And to add to what others have said- I think people should be more worried we lose Michael Lawrence - who is also off contract next year. The lad does nothing wrong- it's more likely he goes given he has improved going forward, tackles like a demon, rarely makes mistakes and rarely gives away penalties - but the minute ferres is fit he will be dropped like a stone.... Again...... He must be pretty fed up by now!

I was baffled by the chanting myself and one bloke i spoke to was adamant he was off at the end of this season and judging by the chants so did plenty others - i would hate to lose Jerry, he's my favourite player but if he decides he wants to move on then fair play to the bloke he's earned the right to leave this club as a bit of a legend !!

unless we did everything within our powers to keep him, which i'm pretty sure we will!

if Jerry leaves i hope it's because Jerry wanted to leave, to further his career if he thought he couldn't do that with us and not because the club didn't do enough to keep him

no doubt the whingers will still want PA sacked RT ran out of town and KD burnt at the stake though.. oh and that we sign Slater, Sam Burgess SBW ETC

so the club do want to sign him up... maybe the fans should start chanting for jerry to sign!

like others have said what about players like lawrence who are ooc at the same time and cudjoe too i think.

and we cant go breaking the bank for players, fans need to understand this important point....

we also have another winger who will be on a nice salary as he was one of the best wingers in sl at the time we signed him in broughton, could have given jerry more if we got that signing right

absolutely monstrous tonight! what a try and they looked petrified of him, on form he is as good as any winger in the country right now, and i have said it before and will say it again, would be pushing for international recognition if he didn't wear claret and gold

superb performance, but yet again the chants of sign him up, the contract is there for him!!

If we let Gerry go I'll question our ambition as a club

but what if Jerry wants to go? and despite the club doing everything they can he wants to leave, do we still call the club out for "letting him go"?

you can't keep players against their will.

We could always start slagging him off Mullally style.

Personally I don't get involved in the sign him up chants.

However I understand people's concerns.

Where has this 'there's a new contract waiting' come from? I haven't heard anything about it.

If Jerry was to decide to leave it would not be good for us as one of our own would be admitting that even he doesn't believe we can win anything.
