Maybe if the club kept the same shirt design for more than one season at a time, it might help sales and assist in stock control? RL is getting more like footbal clubs in changing shirt designs.

The problem i think the club has had is that the current design has been one of the most popular designs for a while and they based the order on how last seasons shirts sold. They ordered too few of a popular design so have run out.

In 15 posts there are people complaining there were too few 2013 shirts ordered and people complaining there were too many 2012 ordered.


Why not consider the shirt in 2014 as a limited edition and get in early. You left it too late and missed out in 2014. Buy a different shirt and learn from your error.

Tbh I'm not complaining, I'm the first to admit I'll only buy when the price is right. But then again I'm clouded by the fact I did a project towards a college assignment about the retail aspects of sports clothing and got the breakdowns of the actual costs from the manufacturers the warehousing ect.

Another way of looking at this is that many took advantage of the offer for additional money off shirts for this season if they donated old shirts so would account for the shortfall in 1-profit and 2-availabilty.

The quality of the replica's is pathetic and certainly not worth 45 odd quid. I'd rather pay more for a players on field shirt

I'm doing bloody well to have already missed out on the 2014 one! I but a shirt every year, in the later few seasons it has been the away one as the home one hasn't been worth a mention.

If you'd read earlier posts you would have noticed that I had tried to purchase a shirt much earlier in the season, in fact if memory serves correct it was March!

The thread wasn't started to get people complaining or for me to have a whinge about the club, which I haven't, it was purely to find out if anyone on here knew something I didn't or hadn't been told by the club - particularly as many profess to know the inner workings of the club.

I do believe this had a great impact on selling the shirts quickly, it was an excellent offer and people who took the offer up will have got themselves a bargain.

I personally didn't, as sad as it sounds, I like to keep the old shirts as memorabilia. They have a sentimental value attached to that particular season, that said, last seasons would have been quite easily swapped if I hadn't thought it was such a daring and innovative design.

I did go to buy my shirt in March, after I'd seen the shirt in the flesh and realised I liked it; as the pictures in the examiner really didn't do it justice. And so follows the thread we're on and people are getting bent out of shape about.
