| Keighley might have been the same game as adelaide giant no.9 PA announcer (who I think was the chairman at the time????) gave us some right stick before the game, strangely enough not quite as much stick at half time.

| Quote: GIANT DAZ "Doncaster - Yorkshire cup 1st round tie at the old Tattersfield groundi in 1988 or 1989.
we went on the early fartown flyers which was a little rickety minibus driven by an 89 year old guy who fell asleep !!
when we arived there was only a flaming Camel moored up in the car park that belonged to some travelling friends living there - the 8 of us fell about laughing
oh and we lost !
went to pretty much every away game till about 94/5 when i started my family.
in those days dont forget we used to trek to whitehaven, workington, barrow and carlisle as well as london'"
great days!
oh and we lost 23-4

| Quote: giantess2 "cant really remember , but keighley away in 95 sticks in my mind! fab day!
still up there as one of my all time top fartown games
for those too young or ignorant to know about this, a quick explanation
in 1995 keighley were the big shakers outside the first division, cougar mania was at its height, crowds of 3,000 regularly crammed into lawkholme lane, they invariably won everything ( but were denied promotion because of the invention of SL-a disgraceful decision in my eyes). anyway we were a handy mob ourselves and so became big rivals with keighley. we were drawn away to keighley in the cup after knocking out first division halifax, now keighley hadn't lost at home for something like 2 years and usually steamrollered teams up there, anyway the fartown boys strolled into town and handed the cougars a 30-0 clogging, and could have been more,it sent shockwaves round the RL world and delighted our fans, of which 3,000 travelled to oldham to see us lose in the quarter final but we werent disgraced.
we had some titanic tussles with keighley and had a great rivalry going on until their world fell apart, we were admitted to super league in '98 and the cougars never recovered from being deneid promotion and the start of bullmania and we have only met twice since in the 2002 NFP season.

| My first away game was my first game - Halifax in the Infirmary Cup between the '01/'02 season. In fact, in my first season watching the Giants ('02 - in the NFP) I didn't go to a single home game!
