Clearly you know absolutely nothing about sport. Teams that have decades of success retain their fans even in hard times for a few years. Teams that have had decades in the lower leagues cannot get huge support 'over night'. This is true of many sports.

it's one thing when you have ONE bad season at the wrong end of the table ( even then you had to cheat to get out of it) it's another thing when you've had more bad than good, of which we are absolute masters ! imagine turning up along with a few hundred others on a miserable sunday afternoon not knowing if it was the last time you'd set foot in that crumbling ground to watch your beloved team,thats what a lot of us did in the 80's and 90's, imagine being at the bottom every year and watching your beloved team trounced week in week out. now that my friend is loyalty, the most succesful club in the games history and the biggest name in the sport have the greatest fans ever because they didn't all desert them after a bad HALF A SEASON!
sorry but that doesn't even start to compare to what a lot of us loyal fartowners have been through.
