Great performance tonight, and totally deserved the win.
Have always agreed with what has been said about finishing top of the league. This is the team that are true Champions. The champion team is the best team over the full season , not just the last three games of the season.
Having been a supporter over 50 years, I have refused to be brainwashed by Sky into believing that the " champions" are the winners of the Mickey Mouse cup.
After last year, despite the result, the whole experience of Old Trafford was like a pre season friendly, and even if we get there this year , myself and the 4 others who I went, with won't be going again, even if we get there.
Until we all pull together to wake the RFL up to this, unfortunately I feel or great game will decline.

The experience of the Grand Final was like a pre-season friendly?
If your team were actually competing in it you would have felt differently.

The rest of your post is cringeworthy and ignorant of RL's history, his despite your claim of over 50 years spectating.
As another poster pointed out, yours' and a lot of your fellow posters sudden attitude towards the playoffs stinks of 'stop the clock now while we're at the top'.

When you've experienced a win at Old Trafford you will understand.
The RFL don't need to realise anything with regard to the Grand Final, have you ever looked at the attendance figures? - an undeniable success.

What a performance that was ......players, fans and coaches can be rightly proud of that - the effort by everyone was immense, in a way we had to win last night just to prove the doubters wrong, another defeat and the same old 'wheels are coming off', the 'bubble's burst', 'hudds cant win big games' lines would have been trotted out - as it is we have put one huge stamp on Super League saying WE are the team to beat !!.

The ease in which we did it too was suprising - i dont buy this Wigan had so and so out, they had a team on that field that was good enough ot beat anyone, your not telling me on a big game and big night for the Wigan club with that crowd in that the coach chose to lose that game ? rubbish, we battered em !!

1905....they struggle to get 6000 fans to a game and there top of the league, where do you think an extra 5000 taking into account 1000 will b away fans will come from...hudderfield have deserved there place this year but unfortunately the way it's run super league will always b money based so play offs are the way forward for the rich....

The Wigan players, the same a their fans, were desperate to win last night. Of that there is no doubt.
It's true that Wigan were missing there 2 most important players, certainly one of them would have made a big difference to their attacking threat. Whether if Tomkins played or not would have affected the end result who knows, but it makes no difference - Huddersfield won.

If you go on to finish top of the league that is a great achievement and definitely there could be no doubts as to whether your a genuine force. I can assure you though, the feeling of winning the GF is incomparable, to be crowned champions after beating all of the biggest & best teams around in the most intense games you've witnessed, in the final game of the season with the whole RL community watching - this is what the players dream of.

I genuinely think Wigan have done well to be challenging for the hub cap with the team they have. Charnley is the only world class player they have. It is a very well drilled squad but without O'brother-in-law & Tomkins completely lacking threat. Loads of overrated players (excellent SL quality but not international) - Farrell (simply not big enough), Hansen, MOssop (what has he ever done to deserve accolades?), McIlorum (aggression & err.. nothing else), Green, Goulding, Smith - some decent kids & quite a lot of pap - Richards, young Tomkins, Thornley, Lauaki, those Welsh lads. Man for man Hudds were on a different planet.

Absolutely correct. That's why the have to play to such a rigid structure which is based around Tomkins coming in to the line, without him their attacking threat is minimal. They don't have the players to create and play off the cuff like other top sides.

We've not won anything yet, LLS or Grand final just 2 points against one of our key competitors.

If we go on to win the LLS I for one will be extremely happy, but as I have said a number of times on here the holy grail is the GF.

Now if we win that after finishing with the LLS then yes we would be in our true sanctuary, mind you the doubters and knockers will trot out the usual you have to back it up tosh, like I'd care.

End of the day we have a big game next weekend against London, we need to turn up and perform, crikey there's another 2 points on offer.

In theory we could win it next week, if we beat London, Wigan lose in France, and Wire lose to Wakey and Widnes, but don't think we will icon_lol.gif

It would be sweet if we could secure it at home, though a lot has to happen first including us going away to London and coming back with two more points, so as other people have said; one game at a time.

Personally I feel it is going to go down to the last game of the season, that's when the pressure will really be on and that is when we will see what this team is made of. I'll take nothing away from what the Giants did last night though, they looked a bit nervous at the start with some uncharacteristic errors from a few of out consistent performers but they grew in to the game and started to take a bit of control.

Stand out performers for me last night were: Grix, Kopczak and Robinson. It was excellent to see Lunt and Chan back, though Lunt didn't look 100% fit to me.

On a final note, Stuart Fielden: he doesn't look to far away now. Anybody know if we will see him against London?

it would be even sweeter if we were presented with it at odsal just to stick 2 fingers up at all the glory hunting bulls who deserted their home town in search of glory and who ridiculed and abused us for years!
of course these fans wont be there anymore as the glory days of the peoples club are long gone and their team are a skint, lower league shambles.
it would also give me great personal satisfaction as I used to tell these people that one day fartown will be better than their beloved bulls and will win trophies.
let it happen k020.gif

Totally one game at a time, but I'm already in dreamland! Lol

But if we can't beat London after this weekend it's a bloody poor do
And if we can't beat Wakefield at home it's a bloody poor do.

No disrespect to either club who can and have given us some beatings in the recent past, but we ARE top of the league and they aren't in the top 8

I absolutely hope we have the LLS in our hands after the Wakey game.

Win our next two and its ours. Simple undeniable fact.
