Does that mean we can say it wasn't important

| Quote: ThePrinter ""Something sensible".....coming from a guy who referenced Hudds winning 4 in a season which was around 100 years ago? We're talking modern day, and all you lot are doing are kidding yourselves if you think the big boys always threw all their weight into the regular seasons and didn't pace themselves to be peak form come playoff time.
The big three's good playoffs records compared to Hudds constant disappointing playoff record shows this perfectly.'"
This is a pointless discussion. Rugby league started when it started, not when Leeds started to win things. That said if the Giants can't win the GF I would love Leeds to win , being the only other Yorkshire side. To win the treble would be something to really celebrate, there is a difference though between celebrating and gloating.

it will always mean something to me, regardless of if what else, if anything else we win.

| Cant understand why you enter into dialogue with descendants of Dumbo !
.....and I was as gutted as any fan bout the result.
But more about the circumstances that led to it
Bottom line is :-
1 We forget that games last more than 75 mins - theyre 80 plus stoppages
2 We more than often cannot stamp our authority on games when we get in front -if we`d done that at Wigan we wouldnt have been having a discussion such as this
OK leeds went off the boil after the Cup Final and lost 3 games on the trot
It didnt matter a fig as they won the one that mattered - and more important to me we lost it !
8 points in front with 8 mins to go and they score 12 -think about it !
Refs -dont get me started ! But they`re what were faced with. Full time -and the standard is ****
The number of times Ive heard Mr Cummins say "I think he`s got that wrong" on Sky is frankly becoming boring but thats a separate never ending topic Against the recognised glamour clubs we HAVE to build leads that they cannot do anything about (ie the Warrington match) We were merciless -and thats how its got to be Cas did it against Leeds - but they also have a similar affliction!
Its hard reading I know and hurts
We won the LLS - but as yet we havent pushed on -and are still a "Nearly but not quite" team / club which for Ken must give him sleepless nights and even more grey hairs (or hes the patience of a saint )
Fortunately we are still IN the semi We proved in the past that in semis we often rise to the occasion
(Leeds at Odsal --Saints at Warrington ) So lets hope we do again - and carry the job through
We need to stamp it home that last Fridays history -and gone. Forget about it ! S--t happens - and theres two 80plus mins to sweat blood for glory Ken has done his bit and still is doing !The fans can do theirs and then its down to PA team selection and motivation We have the ability - just prove we can stay with the pace and PROVE weve stepped up to the mark and arent a "nearly team " any longer !
Its all down to us !

Granted both set of supporters have differing views of some calls during the game. But when Robinson dived over when Hall threw Hardaker a shocker of a pass on our try line......I think we can all clearly see Robinson knocked on and no try was the correct decision.
However after watching 2/3 replays Cummings was adamant that Robinson's hands never touched the ball.

P.S. I don't recall replying to you or claiming that people were disputing Robinson's try.

You weren't but Cummings was! He sounded positively distraught. Anyone would think he wanted Wigan to win the LLS or something!

| Putting all the bickering to one side - I thought it was a game worthy of a semi-final, or even a final. Massive defensive effort, some good play with the ball in hand and mental toughness on display from both sides. Despite losing I think that Huddersfield team have shed the 'chokers' tag. I didn't see them choke; they got the wrong bounce of the ball in the last play of the game.
My concern for both teams is that game will have taken a lot out of them; what will they have left in the tank? The happiest team after that game will be Wigan. I hope one of Hudds or Leeds go on and win it.

it will be debated for a while, about who should have done what etc but we didn't deserve to lose that game.
our big test is thursday now, we have to be 100% focused and i think we will be.

| Away from this forum of recriminations and bickering the tone has gone from
Can the Giants win the final = no
To
Can the Giants win the final = yes
If that's not a turning point of massive proportions I don't know what is

| Winning the LLS IS significant and it was when the Giants won it. IMO it has been given too little profile, which the new format seems to address to a small extent. It signifies that the team that wins it has been the most consistent through the hard graft of the regular season, which deserves significant recognition. But under the current system, the competition builds from there via the 8's and then the Semis to the Grand final and the GF will always be seen as the most important achievement. Friday nights game was a cracker worthy of a final and maybe if you guys can do the business on Thursday and we can on Friday we can have another go at OT. Good Luck for your Semi-final
