think he loses it trying to get us a quick play of the ball, which sometimes inturn also wins us a penalty for the opposition messing about in the ruck

| Quote: Jo Jumbuck "Well I'm no big fan of PA, but it certainly won't upset me. I can choose to go and support or not, It's more about style of play and entertainment for me, That's just me , some will be far more bothered about finishing high up the league, Points are everything sort of, That's fine as well cause they can choose whether to go or not as well.
I am not particularly impressed with finishing 4th, 3rd or whatever if we just keep getting wiped out in the playoff's. We did extremely well to win the LLS, and though I think it's wrong, it's viewed as a runners up trophy by most RL fans. I don't recall any increase in attendances of any note either, so if that's the case maybe it's true.
In my opinion our style of play has gone backwards in the last season and half, there will be many reasons for that I suppose but again in my opinion PA is one of them, We have some players who have gone backwards, some who haven't.
The biggest case to be made for PA is probably that we don't have the quality of players (generally ) that the so called big clubs do, Probably true enough, My main problem is if we can still be 3
-4 th in the league after playing like we have for the last season and half a lot of the time, What could we do if we played like we are capable of, and show we are capable of in odd matches,( sometimes Half matches ).
That for me is where the top coaches can, by various different styles get the very best out of the players, This is where I think PA is lacking. I may be quite wrong , but it is my opinion only.
I'm very interested to hear other peoples reasons why he should have gone or stayed, All hypothetical now but still worth hearing.'"
as a team we need to be able to raise our game and intensity when the big games come, the teams that win the trophies are the ones that can do that, they can turn it on and off
we cant at the moment, look at the leeds game they went up a few gears and we failed to match them despite being able to win league games with ease at times

And what do you see as a solution.

He does lose the ball in the tackle sometimes, Not as often as Tai but they both put some effort into it. Grix has his good sides to his game, Taking the ball up and tackling are not amongst them, It's a matter of If the advantages outweigh the disadvantages with most fullbacks, They cant all be Steve Prescott's or Gary Connolly's.

Totally agree, We might see some class players " which I welcome" we might not, but they will be at the clubs who already win everything, so I don't see much changing.

| Quote: Mad_Jack_Mcmad "Grix has been one of our top 4 tackle busters for the last 4 seasons. Quite an achievement for someone who is scared of being tackled, no?
There are many reasons why the team may adopt a tactic of dropping the wingers back to receive a dump off from the FB.
It could be because Smurph and Jerry are very effective runners. It could be because Grix is our best support runner (he used to be the only player who would follow Fuey even though everyone must've known he was likely to offload) and so he is better following those two in case they offload. More than likely though it's because he is a much better passer from dummy half than either Smurph or Jerry and so gives us an extra option over than a scoot as second tackle when taking the ball out of our own half.'"
You have presented a point which I cannot argue against, so I accept I was wrong. I rescind my previous comment on Grix.

It's one of the reasons I think this forum for Giants fans is great. A chance to put your view forward and at the same time give others a chance to change your mind - I know the forum has challenged and changed my point of view at times! I had to laugh last night when we agreed 100% on another thread but completely disagreed on this one (thankfully others were more eloquent than me on this one!).

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |

| As long as Scott Grix is contracted to - and long after he has left - Huddersfield Giants RLFC there will be mixed opinions on him...we know that throughout his career with us.
Same to a point with Paul Anderson now, some think he's taken us as far as he can while others think we haven't had the best yet and are happy with what is happening at the club ie Full time Academy = more homegrown talent etc.
Either way as fans of the club all we can do is support both blokes while they wear those famous colours of ours !!

Tomorrow is the next big game and Wigan are a side we often do well against, If we front up like we did first half last week I'm optimistic. Can't be there unfortunately but might get a bit of radio if I'm lucky, Can you pick up Radio Leeds on West coast ?.
