| I thought child had a fairly decent game,a couple of dodgy ones but nothing too bad, one of the better performances from an official this year i thought.
As for the game both defences were on top for most of it, but once we broke their resilience it was all over for them, they offered very little on attack but could be down to our decent defence.

No team is that squeaky clean to only commit 2 penalties in 79 mins. I think the guy is a disgrace, don't get me wrong you guys deserved the win, and were the better side, but you aren't gonna concede many points if you can get away with being offside like any team would. I'm still scratching my head with him judging how Seymour knocked on that kick in the 1st half.
I'm just proud of the defence, desire and work ethic FC showed today. Last season under Agar, we would have been 20 points down in that first half. Overall a great game of Rugby League, with dropped ball being down to some brutal hits. Congratulations on the win, I do think the score flattered you guys. You lot have a good side there. Best of luck this season, except for this sunday when I hope you're s**t, lol'"
well im not being funny but i thought you was offside as much as we was i mean your forwards was in our face just after robbo basically picked up the ball and lets be fair they are not that fast. grix had a knock on against him from a 20m resrtart where his facing backwards and droped the ball backwards. but was a very scrappy game but both have brilliant defences

Probably yes, every team tries to get away with things in a game, I aren't disputing that. Hull got penalised far more in that game than you lot, I mean TWO penalties in 79 mins. Take your blinkers off mate, no team in Super League is that disciplined. Child wasn't the reason we lost that game, you were the better team on the day no doubt and we just ran out of petrol in the last quarter, but that clown had an influence on it. If you aren't willing to admit that then there's something wrong.
Have a nice day, should be another good game on Sunday.

| He wasnt great but Can't say he influenced the outcome- it wasn't him dropping balls And taking two points instead of taking advantage of the few bits of field possession hull had all game- as soon as I saw they were taking two I knew they were lacking in confidence-and probably so did the players.

OK, but how did the score get to 2-2 at halftime? Surely your side took 2 early on as well?
Both sides struggled to break each other down till about the 60th minute, very even match till then. You have a good team that deserved to win, no complaints from me.

12411.jpg Sing a song of Yorkshire, from the Humber to the Tees
Of cricket, rugby, beer, of pudding and of cheese
I know no other county where the land is quite so fine
England's lovely county. And I'm proud to call it mine
Where shining purple heather stretches far across the moor
And the lapwing's cry above me takes the place of traffic roar
And peace comes drifting gently, there's no place I'd rather be
Than this land of hills and valleys, from the Pennines to the sea
So when I've done my roaming, and when my step grows slow
When heart and mind assure me that the time has come to go
Then let me rest in Yorkshire, for its there I want to lie

| It amazes me how many comments from supporters I hear at games and read on forums about offside.
The fact of the matter is a player is only deemed offside if he/she are judged to have interfered in play. If a winger is stood 1m in front of the referee at the PTB is the referee going to run 30m over to the wing to blow for the penalty. The answer is NO.
The communication the referee will recieve from the TJ will be something along the lines of "Jordan Turner offside right". If he become involved in play the referee will get an "involved" call. Then the referee will (or should) penalise the player.
The penalties referees blow for straight away are usually because the players stood directly in the line of play are offside. Hull, for example, had a very quick line speed early in the first half and you could hear them call "IN" when the ball had been played. This took its toll after 15mins as Radford and Lynch were not retreating the 10m and were stood either side of the referee. Hudds on the other hand employed similar tactics but had the luxury of 3 forwards on the bench which meant players were not as fatigued and made the 10m.

| so are you saying that players dont have to be behind the ref (or back 10 metres) as long as they dont interfere at the next play?

I always thought they had to stay 10 metres till the ball had been played ...at least thats how it used to be !
BTW i'm not disputing it, just wanted clarification of it thats all.....your the Ref at the end of the day, mind ya these days most of em seem to have forgot the rules

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |
|
| As someone once said "If they're not affecting play, what are they doing on the pitch?"
On Monday Child pinged Jordan Turner for offside at a scrum when the ball went to the opposite side to him. Although TBF Turner did start moving forward as Scott Grix was feeding the scrum so he couldn't have been much more offside if he tried.

You do have to be 10m from the play the ball or 5m from the base of a scrum to be onside.
What I'm saying is if the ball is played and moved to the right of the field yet the centre at the opposite side of the field is offside do you penalise him as he is technically in breach of the rule?
You have to allow a common sense approach to refereeing and ask yourself the question is that player effecting play?
The Jordan Turner example mentioned above could be argued that yes he was effecting play. Did Scott Grix see Turner moving up quickly and thought the better option would be to go on the opposite side? Is Turner directing where the attack goes by being in an offside position. At a scrum I would argue this to be the case.
