Neutral fan here , Halifax fan living in Huddersfield, it was a battle of styles and I think Huddersfield executed their gameplan well for most of the game and were just caught out a couple of times to wigans expansive style. Obviously missing some kicks was costly. Seems Watson has got Huddersfield ticking again and I can see you doing well this season . Unlucky and heads up .

All kickers have games where they are off form and the more they miss, the worse it gets.

Goal kicking is about ability, but confidence is a major factor too.

No I don’t think he should. Because other than those kicks Tui played an excellent game. Taking away the goal kicking would send a message to the player that the coach didn’t have confidence in him, and that could potentially affect the rest of his game. Like you say sometimes they just have games where they dont get them right, a different stadium or whatever it is. Other times they nail them.

Don’t worry pal- all clubs have them. I even got a Hull fan private message me on Facebook to have a go - no idea who he was- but that’s the epitome of sad sack.
Most wigan fans I spoke to after the game were super. Only saw a couple of numb nuts try and wind folk up. One got hauled off by his mates, the other decided to start a fight with fellow wiganers and the police.

Thanks very much for bringing that up! We(KR) owe someone big time for that. Sometimes it,s just not your day and everything goes wrong, and that was ours. To be fair Leeds were on fire and had their "golden generation" players all available, hey ho, moving on.
What I think is harder is to lose it at the death, like you did, great effort, and if that kick through ball had bounced another way, you would have won, but they got the bounce and kicked their goals. Tough, but that's it.

One giants fan said to me yesterday he’d rather have lost 50-0, but no not for me- gutted we lost for sure but rather have been in with a chance even if we failed at the end.
That performance will have done our club the power of good on and off the field. Watson will find his recruitment a little easier this year for sure.

Feel for the Huddersfield players and fans - we've been on the wrong side of final results plenty of times so definitely won't be rubbing that in. You were the better side for most of the game - we just managed to hang in there and if you're two points behind with 5 minutes to go then you have a chance. Leutele scared me to death every time he got the ball.

Looks like you're set to be serious contenders for all the trophies over the next few years.
