| Fantastic player and a great servant to your club. I always admire players like Eorl that have given everything to the cause and never shy away and a true 1 club man. There is no wonder his body has told him its time good luck to him in retirement.

| mr huddersfield giants!
did alot for the club exposure wise, people knew him and though of the giants and they didnt even know much about rugby league
must have seen most of his 400 apps and will be strange not seeing his pont tail on the field again!
he was very loyal and could have moved on to other clubs/nrl
pleased he stays with us in marketing.
top bloke too

| im pleased for the guy , i would have hated it if he had been shunted off to another team , he has always been the face of Huddersfield Giants and he will always be remembered as an outstanding guy both on and off the pitch , always got time for the fans , always gave one hundred per cent, i remember that thug Morley taking him out of the game against Warrington when Eorl was just a youngster but he was ripping Warrington up so along comes Morley and a knee in the face leaving Eorls tooth in Morleys leg and didnt play the rest of that game ,

| Thewlis saying we are still nearly up to the cap even with eorl retired. If that is the case we are definitely up the creek. With 5 players leaving so far surely that can't be right ?

| A true legend! I remember seeing him playing centre for the first time and thinking 'if this guys learns how to run his weight, he is going to be awesome'... He did, and he was! Noone epitomises the 'giants' like Big Eorl did, they should have just stuck him on the logo and had done. In a way i'm glad he's retiring because for me his best years were definitely behind him, and i want to remember the super sub who could and often would change the course of a game with his barnstorming runs and close range tries.
Enjoy your retirement Eorl you deserve it.

| I think he could probably have done one more year, but it wouldn't have been the usual quality we come to expect from the big man. It's right that he is going out as one of our best forwards. At times he has been our only quality prop and still managed to match the opposition. Very underrated by some, but to me he has always given his best and often that has made him one of the very best in the game. I'm pleased to have seem him play throughout his career and it's a credit to him that he has been a one club man. Glad the club could come to an agreement and keep him on in a marketing role, I'm sure he will give his all to this too. He is a modern day legend for Fartown. Thanks for the memories!

| A modern rugby star but a very respectful and modest man. The sort of man we need to promote the game. Good luck to him

| I watched him develop from a young scrawny centre to one of the top props of his generation, and for a time between 2009-2012 was fantastic to watch, I can't help but feel he could have done a lot more with his career had he left us, but fair play to the guy, he said he was never motivated by money or trophies but happiness!
Sadly his body is packing up now so right decision, i don't think he was part of Stone's plans for 2017 anyway.
I hope the club gives a proper send off, he deserves it, a top bloke, a true Giant!
Good luck big man!

| Just catched up on his sky sports interview, and typical of his pride and loyalty to Huddersfield and the Giants just shines through as always.
Respect his decision to retire now - think he still had a year left on his playing contract - as it would have been sad to see him play on longer at anything other than the classy player he was.
Seen numerous different looks and hair styles over the years.
Think my lasting memory is from 2013 LLS when coming off the bench, he emotionally raised the crowd, his team mates too, and many times tipped a game in our favour. Saying he was an impact off the bench understates his contributions.
A talisman, who whilst not captain (was he ever ?) was undoubtedly one of our best ever emotional leaders in both good times and bad ones.
Mr Huddersfield Giants.

| He was a guest on Hawksbee and Jacobs' show on Talksport this afternoon, came across very well, professional and humorous and both presenters seemed to have a genuine appreciation for him!

One of my abiding memories is the whole crowd lifting when he came onto the pitch and the anticipation when he took his first hit up,He had the same effect for England in the tri-nations final at Elland road, he was possibly one of the best props in the world around 2009-11
