Then we need to get rid of all the team, Their first loyalty is to themselves and their families . You are one of the rare breed who would turn down a higher paid job elsewhere, to show your loyalty. Yeah right.
If he does stay with us ( which would be nice ) He has showed where his position is, which as far as I know was where he started out playing, ( couldn't swear to it ) He won't always play that well, but he's shown what he's capable of. If we get a coach with a bit more idea than PA and Conner does end up our fullback, Does that make it a straight fight for the halfback spot between Brierley and Ellis, That would be interesting to say the least.
We have some big Ellis fans on here, But then we had some big Anderson fans as well. All will become clear in the fullness of time, until we know where Conner is going to be playing It's all speculation.

I believe his original position was half back, think he was switched to fullback in the U19s due to injury. Then selected for international duties where he played centre (so they could get him in the team?)
If he's gone/stayed for money then who can blame him. I'd be more bothered if there was another reason such as impatience or demanding a particular position.
The only issue I have with the situation was the timing of the announcement. If it was orchestrated by hull and he agreed to that it was poor form by him. If he didn't agree to it then Hull did the dirty on him too. I don't buy the media already had the story angle. Hull could have denied he'd signed- which wouldn't even be a lie!
Whatever happens either team will be better for having him in their squad. He clearly has a great deal of skill. If he can continue to work on his defence (and reduce the penalties) he will be a top class player.

| Well done Jake if this is true!!
Can't understand why FC have spat out their dummy and threatened legal action if Jake stays at the Giants and doesn't honour his contract with them, weren't they saying last week that a contract had not been signed and either party could pull out? Make up your minds which it is FC

Yes I agree with all that, I have wondered if he has some inkling of who the new coach is going to be and it has influenced him, That's just musing of course.

The plot thickens even more- now hull FC are claiming that he has had his medical and he signed his contract last week. Funny how they kept that snippet quiet isn't it!
Not sure how they did that without agreeing a transfer fee with Huddersfield.
Apparently they have lodged the contract with the RFL who have approved it.

They all know who the new coach is going to be, think it's probably Visa etc holding up the announcement. Hopefully this has convinced Jake to stay.

| yes was thinking the players will know who the coach is now...may convince any that are thinking of moving to stay
still not too fussed if connor stays or goes, he gave a wave to hull fans during the game last week abit like hodgson did to warrington fans... cudjoe didnt like what connor did
what i still dont understand is why hull fc feel the need to announce players while they are still with other clubs? has happened with josh griffin at salford this season too

That piece states an agreement was made- not a contract signed- that was them backtracking when they thought they would have to pay a fee.
In fact Hull have done a lot of backtracking over this- whilst hudds have said the same all along.

He hadn't, he signed it last week after he had a medical. I'm not an expert on contract law and whether you can sign a contract dated in the future and it be legally binding but something has been done if it's with the RFL. I'd expect that it's actually the date the contract starts that dictates if hudds are entitled to any fee and if it's after his 22nd birthday then you won't.
As I've said on the Hull board, it's really down to where he wants to be. if he'd rather stay at hudds then Hull should allow it subject to a small compensation payment from your club

| And who exactly are they going to sue? A 21 year old kid? That's really big of them isn't it. They've got exactly what they deserve by trying to be devious last week and saying Jake had not signed but would deffo sign when he was 22 so they could get round paying a transfer fee hahaha

A small compensation? Hull weren't exactly offering that when they tried to get him without a fee were they.
If he's decided to stay at Hudds then that's it matter closed and put to bed.
