| Quote jools="jools"The club already have developed a strategy with announcement that any games changed to Thursday will result in money refunded on Thursday games that people cannot attend.
Some people can't do Thursday's, some can't do Sunday's, can't cater for every person all the time- it's life.
The club asked what the fans wanted and they said Sunday- unfortunately the clubs also decided they needed sky money- so we are in a situation where there is little consistency- no point folk moaning when they get what they want as well as when they don't!'"
The easy solution is do not buy a season ticket. Pay when you attend a game. Without The Sky money the Clubs cannot survive.

| It's a real shame this. The club have put a lot of time and money into attracting families to games, Thursday nights are not family friendly, Friday nights are not good for young kids either, because of that I won't be renewing. Hopefully my interest will continue enough to pay on the day for Sunday afternoon games. Maybe when my family are older I will return as a season ticket holder.

| just a quick one on this, has anyone thought to give feedback to the club? if you are planning on not renewing then maybe offer the club some feedback on why?
that way then at least the club have a general idea on why attendances, and /or season ticket sales are declining.
i'm pretty sure they would be glad to get the feedback, also maybe join the supporters association and use it as a voice?

| Have done this before and suggested all sorts of options
half season ticket, sunday games only, options for choosing your games etc etc.

| Loads of options mentioned time and again
Zero reception from the club
The issue isn't so much about what day games are on as the fact that there is ZERO knowledge of when any games are actually on beyond ticket holders
Take away a regular fixture time and then anyone but a ticket holder doesn't know when the games are so disconnects from the club
Answer? Advertising
Which the club never does
Oh well

| I've given my idea's to the board face to face and they've all been dismissed instantly by Mr Thewlis in the past.
As for advertising, to be fair to the club in the past they have accepted this has been a problem and did ask fans to help by printing off or collecting posters/flyers etc for their workplace/local area but as usual there was a very poor response from the fans ...yes i know it's not the fans place to do it but it wouldn't harm just helping a little bit if it indeed did help the club, who had acknowledged they hadn't or couldnt do more in the past and we're actively looking for the fans to help. Fans won't help the club but then slate the club for not doing anything.

| I'll do them a swap. I reckon I might get some free time if the club want to take my kids to football & swimming lessons, help me tour open days for secondary schools in West Leeds and fill in my daughter's preference form. Then they can reorganise my man-cave, get my windows refitted before the Winter draws in.... and do the extra hours I need to put in at the office this week. Hell, maybe they'll do me breakfast in bed and give me a 'livener' before I leave the house? After all, I'm their fan; I deserve it!
I won't bother asking for help with the Christmas shopping cos I know they're skint!

| It was obviously aimed at fans who had some spare time on their hands or wouldn't mind giving up some of theirs to help. Not everyone could or was willing to....

Daz we are talking here about a business, professionally run by some highly paid people, It costs enough to go and watch a game without having to do your stint at getting the job up and running.
What would you think if M&S asked you if you could do a stint sweeping up, next time you went for a sweater, I know what I would think.
There is yourself, Meast and probably quite a few more on here, whose support and commitment to the club is admirable , It would seem to be a big part of your life, There is nothing at all wrong with that, but you are few and far between mate, The average supporter wants to go and watch a game " if and when he feels like it " and he wants to be entertained.
It is up to the club " with it's highly paid staff" ( and I don't care if it's only a quarter of what Wigan have ) to let the people know when a game is on, and more importantly to make sure those people get what they want to see, " or they just wont come back for more " It's that simple in business. And Rugby league is a business.
With regards to Sky, Each club get I believe around £2 million a year. It doesn't take much working out what the club are going to do, when Sky says you are playing Thursday night. They own the game and clubs will do what they have to do to get the money.

| Sadly though those who "just want to turn up and be entertained" are the ones that moan about the club not doing enough. The sad fact is if you just want to turn up and be entertained you get what you get as without commitment the club can't move forward. And that is exactly why the RFL have chosen saints......

| Who mentioned sweeping up ? hardly comparable to asking someone to print something off their computer to stick in a shop window when they go in !!
And yes the club is a big part of my life but i also realise that the club isn't this huge. self sustaining, multi million pound, successful business some seem to think it is or should be, and needs help now and again.
See this is part of our problem, fans (people) complain that the club do/don't do something right/wrong and when they try and do something they get complained at for trying to do something cos it's not the right thing ! either the club will never ever do the right thing in some's eyes or some people like to pick fault and complain for the sake of it ......what exactly do folk want the club to do ?? obviously not the things a huge. self sustaining, multi million pound, successful business would do as we aren't that !!.
If people have any ideas then why join the [url=http://www.giantssupporters.co.uk/Forms/Membership.htmlSupporters Association[/url and let's get the club to listen to our ideas, that's what we're here for !!

I know where you are coming from here but sadly or otherwise the "just want to turn up and be entertained ones " are exactly the ones Mr Davy is trying to get through the gates< the club are perfectly safe with the Daz's and Meast's. ( no offence )
I would have thought that despite the clubs league position, the fact that crowds are falling is a fair indicator that the people who are running the club are definitely not getting something right. But that's not the case for some is it ? It's the people's fault, It's the day of the week games are played, It's this, it's that , It's the Huddersfield people who don't deserve a club, it's something else, but it is never anything to do with the club being at fault.
Now if me stating the blatantly obvious makes me a moaner then fine , but then anyone who posts anything on this board , that is remotely critical of the club is branded as a moaner.
I was being told only Yesterday that Huddersfield has the biggest percentage of golfers per head of population in the North of England. I don't know if that's true , or even how he knew that, but it proves a point, If you want to win those people over to League , then you have to attract them away from golf or whatever else it is they spend their money on , If you can't then you just go down hill, " same as any other business " But most businesses tend to look for problems within, rather than blame their customers for expecting too much.
