I think the long lasting effect of that incident will be on Carl Ablett. Every forward in Super Leage will have seen the image of a seventeen stone forward cowering from a man giving away a few inches and about 3 stone on him.

Big bad Carl loves to smack smaller players looking the other way, i think his attempts at niggle and intimidation are going to be much less successful in future.

... on the contrary, its very easy to niggle and back away when you get the reaction you were looking for, don't forget the whole point of "sledging" is to make the other party look like the aggressor, in fact it would be self defeating for the "sledge-ee" to go looking for a reaction and then provide one of his own too - its a bit bloody pointless if they both get sent off.

really improved his attack this season too scoring plenty of tries, his defence has always been rock solid and a string runner...him and ferres running at you all day ouch.
