12,000 so it should sell out. Therefore as soon as the tickets go on sale on Monday after the magic weekend we'd better get our tickets snapped up asap before the get returned and sold to Wire fans.

| No doubt we will have to go over the otjer side again, i think its only fair that we should get a semi v lancs opposition on yorkshire soil for once.
However it will still be a good battle im sure, and we might even hire 2 taxis for it!

| Fair enough calls for it to be played in Yorkshire but where???
Odsel is a dump, Doncaster is out on a limb and unavailable on the Sunday anyway. The only suitable grounds would be the KC (and it would be madness choosing that) or Headingley which may have a squeak as us and Saints have the Exiles games so the RFL may wish to spread the big games around a bit but even that would be difficult as surely Wigan v Leeds has to be on one of the grounds those games are being played at.
Nice as Salford, Leigh, Widnes etc are they are probably too small for consideration for semi finals and although Langtree Park has increased the options for venues for big games it will still mean that the likes of Wigan, Warrington and Saints will get a tie close to home alot of the time just because 3 of the 5 or 6 suitable venues are in that area.

| with the crowds that have been going to other cup games we could hold it at belle vue or weldon road and it still would not sell out

Agreed but aim small and you get small crowds. In a perfect world you will have an 18-20,000 ground where people know if they turn up on the day they can get in but perhaps 14,000 or so are already sold. When there are not many seats left (as with Cas v Leeds last year) you do not get pay on the day and the empty seats stay empty.
That said they had 2 weeks to fill the ground this time it is 2 months so getting tickets sold in a short space of time will not be an issue.

hmm not sure we would take 6000, maybe 4000...5000 at a push...but we shall see, if we are still riding high in the league in 6 weeks time should generate abit more intrest

| Too many side's fans take to the net or the RL press after a visit to Salford to complain about the place to make it a suitable SF venue for me, not been but seems a case of no smoke without fire and a shame the stadium seems a very diluted version of what Salford originally had planned.

I have been (salford v leeds corporate) and posted on our board (wire) along the lines that although geographically fair, the layout of the ground isn't great for a semi if you want mass ranks behind the sticks as the stands are small.
Ideal for motorway, but, pubs are a bit of a stroll for a prematch pint

| What about both games being played at Odsal, after all don't the powers that rule our game own it.Why give the revenue away and i'm sure the BBC would find it cheaper than moving all the gear from stadium to stadium

I think the problem is there is no natural segregation which will hinder the atmosphere and frankly it is a dump whoever owns it and makes the building of new stadiums by other clubs a bit pointless if big games are played on one of the worst grounds realistically available.
A double header over 2 days at St Helens makes sense but it won't happen.
