| Quote Crackerjack="Crackerjack"For clarification - the number of fans who take part -whatever their numbers - are avid supporters - home and away and have been for many years
They consequently vote on the games they attend -which is a high percentage - and it is not based on hearsay or newspaper reports
HTH
It is a "pastime" and point of discussion and I agree that its worth/ value is open to question
However --the one thing it is is a democratic opinion of all who take part - and as such I would offer is as credible as the press (as a group) or Stevo(as an individual) voting similarly for MOM
The post was a request for other posters opinion - either on the way it is carried out --or the results
Yours are duly noted'"
I do not need any clarification thanks.
My point is that as a bit of yer fun its bob on. As an indicator of RL ability it is tosh.
On the thread subject itself. On his form this year BH could play Oz 1st grade. Robbo would struggle to get into their reserve grade sides.

| And you have not a shred of evidence to back that up Marsdengiant, not one iota.
According to many, not a single english halfback would make the NRL reserves anyway, so whats the point?
Robbo has had a key part in our attack this season, yes at times its faultered, probably about as many times as Bret Hodgsons attacking skill has failed (I wonder if we count up how many times Hodgy and Robbo have bombed scoring passes who will have the most)
I think you have some sort of major chip on your shoulder against Robbo, and I dont know why.
But your implication so far is that no one else knows as much about RL as you.

I do not know why you have to make up things about my posts. I think robbo could make a decent 9 and have consistently said so. i have explained elsewhere why he falls well below a top quality 7. Because I disagree with you over Robbo does not mean I have a chip on my shoulder.
I have little idea what people on here know about RL and how that compares with my knowledge. Nor do I care about such a comparison.
If people want to pretend that Robbo is on a par with BH let them.

Spot on. Robbo has had a fine season
In fact he is in the Opta team of the season

Maybe the fans voting on the above poll know more about RL than they are given credit for.

| Just a note, fans that either didn't attend or view the game on TV or on-line did not vote on this poll.
Personally I can't see what all of the fuss is about, it's a bit of fun and that's it.

| This forum is starting to read like ' you can only post on here if you know more about rl than anyone else' and to be honest it is a sure way to discourage others from posting.
It's about time some people start 'lightening up' and what's all this about providing proof and facts for peoples opinions knowing damn well that's what it is.
Belt up fellas for goodness sake

The team illustrates the flaws of relying on Opta stats. Demitriou at centre is a hoot.

| FWIW I can see where Marsden is coming from here.
The fact is we scored 8 points in our 2 play off games. In both games we had territory.
Luke's not a wet behind the ears 18 year old - at his age he should be hitting his straps and dictating at least some parts of games and helping us get over the line.
I thought (and this is only an opinion ) that he was very dissapointing in our most important 3 games of the season. He may have played well in all the other games and ended up MOM for the season but when it mattered he came up short.
Nathan's putting the pressure on Luke with the signing of Kyle Wood. He sounds like a Shaun Lunt - not here to play second fiddle to anyone.
Roll on next year.

| Quote Durham Giant="Durham Giant"Thatb is the key point. Eyecatching performances tend to get votes. As most fans remember the good things ie tries and breaks they catch peoples attention and get the votes.
People rarely remember those that do the donkey work who often are more deserving of the points.
I cannot remember who said , Forwards win matches , backs make the score look good'.
In reality you would always give the p[oints to the forwards but as it is a bit of fun, by those who attend the games it shows who as an indavidual has looked good in a particular game.
That is why winning the MOS is a real honour for Brett as no one knows better than the players. To win an award from your peers is the pinnacle.'"

We all agree its a "bit of fun" but I will still point out that if a player has come in the top three consistently he HAS put himself about for the cause on a week in week out basis
Looking at the above DG --I hardly think the forwards have been snubbed by the voters
Several things though particularly strike me
1 The standing of Andy Raleigh in third position indicates the hard work he has been recognised for - especially considering the amount of games missed through injuries
2 The position of Wild who week in and out has worked so hard in the "background" -but who also has exerted an immense impact on several games
3 Fatz`s relatively lowly position considering his previous track record and experience
Bottom line -it doesnt and cannot represent a players "ability"
To me though - using a cross section of keen, regular attending fans --it does give some indication who has been seen as giving his best on a regular basis - whatever his chosen position !
