We were far weaker on offence because of having just one hooker. The difference compared to the Wigan game was stark. Plus Saints are a champion side at home.

There is a reasonable chance we will be at Saints again in 2 weeks.

Then we could have Mason / Moore / Faiumu / Lolesi available giving us a more balanced and dynamic line up.

That will be a helluva game!......but first...Catalans.

what you said is a question that is being asked about the giants.
the thing now is to step up to the next level and win these big games and win well.
giants are not out yet , missing brown though

It would appear losing to saints at KR in a qualifier is evidence of bottling it while winning a semi versus Saints is not included.

Leeds lost to saints at home in the CC. Does this make them bottlers? Of course not.

If we had lost like HKR did at Leeds I would be more concerned.

Nathan has now seen our guys in 'finals' football. he knows who can deliver and who cannot. Next year Gilly, Fa'alogo and Drew will be in the mix. That makes us much stronger for big games.

Anyone who says we bottles it knows not a single thing about RL

Saints defence utterly smothered us, esepcially Robinson who got precious little support from runners when he had the ball and so was easily picked off by their defence

Very true. Saints defence was very quick and aggressive, causing us to make silly errors and look clueless.

We lost the game fair and squre, no question about that, BUT the knock on rule needs sorting out, jacko tried an offload, the ball clearly went backwards, but the ref said knock on!! Result was a try to saints. Later on in the game the same thing happens to saints and the ref says it went backwards, consitency is required. Im not using this as an excuse as like i said i think saints merit their win. ATEOTD we were not clinical enough, we had the chances and we didnt take em!

overall i dont think we were that far away, but we need fuey, moore and mason back, the lack of another hooker with lunt was our main problem for me, it was noticable when lunt came on how much we improved offensively but i dont think that needs much fixing up, still confident we can go all the way after last night. for me the 2 players who struggled again last night in attack were fulton and robinson, we are not the same side without brown, but with fuey hopefully back we still have plenty of options.

Spot on that, nothing to do with the result, but the saints one was even worse, as he dropped the ball after the tackle had been complete, it should have been our ball

And no way on earth was jacko's a knock on.

Yeah and penalising them for not doing it too. Always the same with Saints.

ATEOTD, Hudds had ample oppurtunity to apply pressure and score but they just dropped the ball far too many times. That lack of composure combined with some superb defending on Saints part meant Hudds were never going to win the game, regardless of the referee. Hudds play a risky style of rugby in defence, if you wanna slow down the ruck penalties are gonna come thick and fast. If you get it down to a tee, like you did in the Semi, it's a great tactic, but the risk you take when things are a couple of seconds out is penalty after penalty for persistent offending. You're right, you're not far off and it's only some little things that need fixing. It's better finding that out in this game, rather than a knockout game. Good luck on Friday.
