You are blinded by this so called "arrogance" we are supposedly exuding, yet what you don't realise is that if the roles were reversed and results over the last couple of years were reversed, then you would have made the same choice.

Why all the whinging? Expected Wire to pick us - as did everyone I heard talking at the game last Thursday.
Given their recent record against us I fully expected it and would have done the same.
I assume they looked at this as whats the best way to the final and given that record they chose us. What Is the drama?
Only comment on the call is that Wire seem to have gone against their stance of picking lowest ranked.
I'm not concerned about going there - I'm confident we will win. Will be tough but we'll do it
As for comments about giving them a hard game and putting some of their players out of the final - 2 points on that absurd comment.

We ARE better than you, despite finishing above us. Our head to head results this season prove that. We lost out on the LLS due to results against other sides, namely Widnes.

I keep reading a few posts saying its disrectful from Wire because they've picked the first placed team but you can't confuse the first placed team with the best team. The structure of the competition now means that it doesn't match up like that anymore. If we had a first past the post system in place then Leeds, Wire and Wigan would have finished above Huddersfield this season imo.

If you can push Wire close on Thursday I think you can count this as a reasonable season.

If any of our players think that they have no place on a rugby field and no place masquerading as professional sportsmen. They should be trying to win the game, not hurt people who are just trying to earn a living.

Absolutely spot on.....some of our fans are making such a huge fuss out of something that we all expected anyway and like someone has said, we would do exactly the same if roles were reversed.

Wigan proved nothing last week but a week off, and according to Wire got themselves a harder game in the Semi

Last year is last year, you said if it was about finishing top, Wigan, Wire and Leeds would be above us in the table, Wigan was 7 points a drift, with us putting out the kids in the last meaningless game, Leeds 5 points and Wire came closest but was sorted a week early, next..............

Just imagine if we win the GF there will be calls from fans of other clubs to sack all at the RFL, to merge with Rugby Yawnion.

How can such a thing be allowed a rubbish team like Huddersfield.

I think Batley and the way they have got to their Final proves the league and play offs should be viewed as totally seperate competitions and fair play to them for doing so but Featherstone have been the best side in the Championship for years but rarely win it and that is an anomoly that the game just has to live with as with the SL playoffs Leeds peaking in September/October and winning it most years.

I guess the jostling for positions makes it fun but at the end of the day some teams thrive at this time of year and some do not and the system leaves it wide open for debate as no one seems to be capable of being the best of the best and bagging a "double". And under the current format perhaps that is no surprise.
