| Points 1 and 2 i'm the same and point 3 i agree with - make it a weekly thing and get everyone who's 'liked' it to send invites to their mates too

| next home game is against warrington if we beat batley and catalan we will be in a very strong position for the season going into that big match, we need to start selling that match now, i like wigans approach of the big 1,2,3,4 concept where they advertise massively maybe summat we should look to start doing granted i dont expect big crowds against teams like london with the prices that are being charged for them games but at least get some good attedances for the big games, still have leeds warrington saints and catalan to come and should really put them games in the spot light

we would advertise the warrington game on sunday only for it to be changed to fri or sat for sky
send crabtree to stand outside the kingsgate a few days before a game on sunday and give him tickets at £21 to flog, see how many he sells.... not many!!!
can just picture it now, '£21 !! your having a laugh mr crabtree!'

| going to catalan £18 bargin 21 or 24 is just to much not just stopping locals from coming to try supper league but also visiting fans both wigan and hull kr normal bring a large following very poor this year better 1500 at 18 or 20 then 250 at 21 or 24

| Quote: espanyolswan "Lets not gloss over things and tell it like it is, Leeds have had a 20,000 gate, Wigan have had 2 and Hull FC got 19,000 v KR.
If we get 10,000 at any game this season we will be more than happy and just saying because everyone elses crowds are down we should just accept it is not the way to go. Leeds, Wigan and to a lesser extent Hull can deal with a thousand less on their average attendance and not bat an eyelid when it comes to next years budget and player signings.....can we honestly say the same????
It was a rubbish crowd set against every game this season bar possibly Wigan being a poor crowd and to blame away support is totally passing the buck and as we keep seeing on here does Huddersfield want a top SL team.....the answer is probably yes, are they willing to come out and support it??? The answer at present is a very firm NO!!!!'"
Those games you have highlighted were over Easter and local derby`s, Leeds game this weekend just gone against London only 12000 plus, about 4000 down for them. And Bradford against Wigan would normally get 14000 but they got less than 10000 and Wigan would have taken a good few.
So the games you highlighted were exceptional.

But the point is we never get exceptional gates and Leeds will not mind 12,000 v London I am sure as most games will get far more than that....can we guarentee yesterdays gate will be our lowest for the rest of the season?????
My main point a 1,000 drop in average gate for the big teams is managable for us it is not so whatever the rest of the top 6 or 7 in RL are getting is pretty irrelevant as they are on a much more stable footing in terms of support where we rely on one man who quite rightly is sounding off about our lack of support and even the 10,000 Bradford got v Wigan is unlikely to be seen at our ground for a very long time and that is the real cause for concern.

| I went to the Hull match and it cost me 24 quid, I 'm afraid that'll stop me being part of the walk-up crowd again.

Nephilim? Look in the only book worth reading.: |

I agree. It's not much use asking a rhetorical question about whether or not the town want super league. What is a must is finding out what people do want. What they'd be willing to spend. What would make them likely to attend. Maybe a market research leaflet drop to households in Huddersfield. Whereby those who fill it in and return it get free entry to London or Catalan game.

Was this not the purpose of RHP's survey?

you could of got in for under £8 if you bought a £99 season ticket at the start of the season.

Exactly. Has RHP been demoted to match day announcer?

thats harsh!
some people don't go to every game, maybe only decide on the day or day before to go to a game,so they hardly gonna spend £99 just in case they want to go to a game in future? plus the £99 tickets are cheap because the view and facilities in that stand are poor and would probably put more people off than encourage them.

What survey? Who was it targetted at and what incentive was there to fill it in? I keep getting bombarded with emails from the club and most of the time I never even open the emails. I was thinking more of a leaflet drop to households in general rather than a survey of existing fans. If the leaflet offered something attractive as a prize for returning the survey then maybe Ken would get some answer as to what the people of Huddersfield do want.
What about using George, Cudjoe and McGillvary and marketing them as the Giants very own "Spice Boys" (I believe these three have connections to Grenada which is known as the spice island). Maybe an offer of an entry into a draw to win a free trip to the spice island. Condition of entry being that the survey is filled in and returned.

There was quite a big deal made of it at the start of last year, it came through online via email.
While i agree with you that we need to target people who arent necessarily season ticket holders, i dont know if a letter drop is the right idea, I'd disguard one of these quicker than i would an email and it is more costly to run these to a large audience.

| maybe get some flyers/offers into pubs, workplaces etc? think i've seen it mentioned before but how about a works deal where say, 5 people take up the offer,£15 each, 10 people £10 each, 20 people £5 each? get some contact details and maybe then ask them to fill a survey in after the game and gauge reaction, if it's mainly positive, offer them a ticket for the next home game for a reduced price or even free travel to an away game?
