On this theory of Hull being able to throw money at Huddersfield in order to buy Brough, with Brough being probably the Giants best player and Davy not being short of a few quid, is there any indication that Huddersfield would be willing to accept a transfer fee?

If Huddersfield want to have a chance of winning anything they must keep Danny Brough. It's as simple as that IMO.
