Thaler lost control of the game.

Bailey was spoiling for a fight. Eorl. Hitting Brown late in the first half. Then picking up Brown to thump him. Webb gobbing it off and throwing the ball, McShane shoving Lunt in the face after the PTB and BOTH times Leeds getting the penalty. A complete farce.

Why would we go looking for a fight at 20 nil up? It was pretty obvious what was going on and Thaler lost it.

Thankfully we kept our composure after Leeds scored and took over again.

Leeds dropped a lot of ball and their defence just doesn't measure up. They are disorganised in defence, no doubt.

I think it was worse than that i think they were trying to target Brown from the first minute of the second half. Was taken late after the pass No penalty, Leulai tried to take his head off should have been binned, Bailey's assault on him, then when he tackled Webb , Webb got up and pushed him straight in the face. They were the ones i saw and i reckon there were more.

With so many players involved i reckon the HT team talk by McDermott was "GET BROWN by fair means or foul".

What about the two Brough tackles first half? Both down in the corner, the second one in particular was an absolute beaut.

What about the high ball take by Simpson, after he'd just come back on after being injured. Took the ball cleanly whether he got smashed or not and saved us from conceeding a late first half try.

I could go on all night because there were some spectacular plays by our lads, truly awesome eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif

38-6, yep alot of talk about the Bailey incident but lets remember that team performance last night, it was truly awesome.

The win at home to Wire was terrific in every sense but last night's demolistion of the Rhino's is one that will live long in the memory, the travelling support reminded me of the semi final win over the Saints a couple of years ago.

What a treat for any Giants fan, the defence in the first 10-15 minutes was absolutely brilliant, tackle after tackle, line speed, intensity, ferrosity of the play. Every single player in the white, with C&G spashes held their own. The Rhino's attack which is still one of the best in the league was left clueless and to be honest I didn't think they knew what else they could do.

As soon as we had the chance to attack their line we scored, and scored and scored again. Kevin Brown was instrumental and had the Rhino's defence floundering around like lost lambs to the slaughter.

Even then when the Rhino's looked like they might score just before half time, up came Simpson after returning to the field after going off earlier with a bad knock. Sinfield hit the high ball, Rhino's players following it up and Simpson as cool as you like took a running jump, cleanly took the ball, no fear, no second thoughts, just took it cleanly then got tackled in the air and the ref did nothing.

That take was the moment I thought we could do this, we could finally win at Headingley, had the Rhino's got a score just before half time they would have used it to boost their second half performance, but thanks to Simpson they didn't.

Second half and already you could see the Rhino's tactics, take out the play makers at any cost, if you can't beat them playing good footie, go dirty (akin to Wire last week in the second half).

Yet again the defence was awesome, tackle after tackle, line speed, intensity continued, what a spectacle for the masses of travelling support. The Rhinos got what they wanted a man sent off for each side, they lost Bailey we lost LO'D - clearly to the Rhino's advantage to compare the 2 is ludicrous, Leeds got the better deal!

Still the defence stood up to the battering one of the best attacks in the league gave them, set after set they held out, to be finally beaten by a Burrow special - pity would have loved to have nilled them!

In seasons past we may have folded, choked etc. but not last night - we got stronger! even going down to 11 men and held them at bay.

Every mistake was punished with us going over the line 3 more times, the hand off by Lunt rounding off a superb performance, only regret was the 80 minutes was up, could have watched that all week.

Anyone know where we can buy a DVD of the game, awesome truly awesome. eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif

He's go no chance of that. He can spell, with good grammar and punctuation. What do they teach on these media study degrees these days? Cut 'n paste is as far as most of 'em get.

i said at the game that they knew they couldn't beat us with 13 men so had to try and resort to getting a couple of our boys sent off so they had a chance of competing with C+G MACHINE

ah well maybe next time leeds icon_lol.gif
