einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result: |
|
| Lunt played well today but I'm under no illusions that if he has a good season for us that he will stay no matter what he says after all it was only last month he was staying with you and all the talk of him leaving were rubbish

He hasnt signed for you though has he- he was offered a permanent deal and he turned it down. In reality he's gone to you because it was that - or sit in the stand. Now credit to him in one respect- he'd rather be playing than sitting in the stands. If it kicks starts his game- it's win/win for all concerned.
It wouldn't surprise me if at the end of the 23 rounds things change.....

No he didn't- and quite frankly I wouldn't believe anything that came out of his mouth-
The club did though. They also praised your club- are you saying they lie?
From our website
"Initially the arrangement desired by Rovers was a permanent transfer but Shaun preferred a loan which we were happy to grant him. I’d say for clarity at this stage that as in all our dealings with the Hull Kingston Rovers club they have been conducted with an openness and professionalism which is refreshing to receive."
Another 7 tackles from 26 missed yesterday.....
In contrast Woody 23 tackles none missed, robbo 29 tackles 1 missed- that was probably the one where he got almost knocked out.

| I think the KR fans on here are missing the point !
If you read carefully i think you will probably find the majority of Giants fans all agree that Lunt is still a good player, the problem has been his attitude and his performances for this club.
No one is doubting his talent, which when he wants to he can be one of the best hookers in the competition, we know cos he was one of them for us and it is frustrating because we know what he can do he just chose not to do it for us anymore as he was having one of his by now regular sulks.
Hull KR have got a fine, fine player who may blossom again into the Shaun Lunt we knew at his peak, unfortunately for us we haven't had that one for a couple of years now and it was becoming detrimental to our squad in the end.
The KR fans coming on here with a look what we've got and you're missing attitude are being very silly as like we've said he didnt want to be here anymore and our club realised this and moved him out, you haven't snatched him from us -we gave him to you !
Shaun is a cracking player and a decent bloke, but like with a lot of things in life things and people need to move on to progress - that is true of Huddersfield Giants and Shaun Lunt.
I for one wish him well in the future he's been a great servant to this club, last couple of years apart when he's decided he wants to play thing his way and sulked when he didn't (or so it seems).
Enjoy him KR, you've got a cracking player there who WILL score tries for you...just don't expect him to hang around if he's decided he wants something else though.

good post Giant Daz.
personally I can't see Lunt signing a permanent deal with us and if he's just using us to put himself in the shop window then I hope he plays his heart out in doing so. this loan gives him that cgance and helps us in a position I feel we were really poor in.

He's hardly what you would call a cast off, merely someone who by your own fans' admission does not want to be at the club, perhaps moving to a new club has given him a different outlook and a new found passion for the game which apparently had deserted him. Lets not forget you were happy to take plenty of our cast off's over the years and they have done ok for you, not forgetting those players' such as Woods and George amongst others what came to our club short term and went back better players.

| He won't sign for us permanently because it's too far from Cumbria where he likes to visit home as often as possible. I think he realises unless he tears trees up between now and the end of the season he won't get the club or the ££ he wants so could be rovers who reap the benefits. Can't help but feel he's cost Giants a lot of money as rovers were willing to stump up a healthy fee for him and start of the season now they get him for free four rounds in

| I would just like to point out that the fact it is a loan doesn't mean in anyway a fee wasn't paid. Many loans, in many sports (including ours) include some form of payment. You may have got him cheaper but there is no guarantee that you got him for free

Will he be allowed to play against us? That will be a clue if he is still our Player. Think not. Time to move on this subject has been played out and is now boaring.

| I think he will be allowed to play against us. But yes I think it is a pointless conversational because in all honest every party is pretty happy... time to move on.

| Some interesting comments made by anderson this week. Firstly he's talked about "a fair chunk of salary cap" becoming available following the departure of lunt. Suggests he was being paid a fair bit. He also said when asked about dropping mullally "The change we made at No9 and involving the bloke who’s now left us (Shaun Lunt)was initially down to him being dropped due to his defence, so it wasn’t just Mull who copped it."
So initially down to being dropped, then he left...... Certainly sounds like the scenario many suggested of lunt having a strop at being dropped is very likely.
