Do you reall y think Wakefield would release the following as a press statement??
We at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats would like to keep our supporters in the loop regarding Danny Brough's contract sittuation. We found out that Huddersfield Giants have been helping him with his personal finances in the hope that he will give them his autograph once he becomes a free agent at the end of this season. Upon finding out this info Mr Kear had a discussion with Mr Brough (before the debacle at home to Huddersfield) and explained to him that The Giants had better sign him now, and for a fee Wakefield feel is appropriate for a player of his quality otherwise he would be making a phone call to the RFL to explain what's been happening. Wakefield feel it is a more sensible approach to recieve a decent fee for the player now, rather than letting him go for nothing at the end of the season.
Now is that really the sort of statement you expect??
Even if it's true? Which i'm not saying it is

Just a point:
Last year we were offered Brough for £100,000. We declined.
Today we are signing Brough for £80,000 + two players?
That just doesn't add up.
