Are you talking about Incapacity Benefit, rather than SSP? SSP is not linked to NI contributions.

I suspect that compensation may not be the issue. Assault charges may have a factor on his ability to play next season.

I think it would be difficult to find a guilty verdict based on his mental state at the time.
