I’m watching him as well. Not really standing out so far. Being overshadowed massively by Chisholm. One of these days you’ll surprise your self and reply with a positive comment.

| 3 year deal. And sounds like he chose us over St Helens which is definitely the right decision for him. Im quite optimistic about the Butler signing as he came to the sport very late so has likely got more improvement in him than say a James Bentley or Joe Batchelor who both went to Saints recently and have both struggled to push into the Saints team. Bentley is OOC this year and might find himself struggling for a new deal at Saints. So where it might be appealing to go to a club like Saints, it might not be what best for your career. Butler will certainly get his chance here.

Indeed. He’s just down the road from us- perhaps he doesn’t fancy driving down the m62 carpark, sorry motorway, on a regular basis - speaking from current experience - I don’t blame him!
He’s more likely to get game time with us. And will not command a large salary.
Wardle and taai first choice in the second row- for me next season - Hopefully the money saved will go towards the salary of a couple of bigger props

| Will do great, definitely deserves a shot in SL. Can play SR but most effective as centre. A strong runner who often breaks tackles, imagine young Martin Gleeson. Good luck to him

| Gleeson's main trait was actually his footwork, even as a young lad he could beat defenders from a standing start with great footwork and lateral movement. Please say he's got that, all our centres are strong runners who can't sidestep for toffee, although Cudjoe does a nice jogging on the spot impression.

He was solid but not amazing. What we have to remember is this lad is part time. Get his fitness up and that will make a big difference.

| His dad is Peter Butler who formed an excellent but short lived midfield partnership with Chris Marsden for Town in 1992. Town fans were gutted for years that they couldn't get Peter permanently - he was a top class worker and incredibly combative. If Chester shows anywhere near the same levels of desire his dad did then we'll all be incredibly happy with this one.
