| i don't think anderson should go at all, why should he? the 2 defeats we had at Wigan and Leeds were mainly down to individual errors, how can the coach be blamed for that?
yes i know, ultimately a coaches job is based on results but to sack the coach ( a coach who has taken us to first and third) because of individual mistakes on the field is ridiculous.
but we should be winning at least 2 out of the next 3 or we are struggling to make the top 4 realistically.

| In my opinion it's performances and tactics that will make me decide if the coach isn't good enough...upto now I don't think he's done a lot wrong but the players have let him down. The hull game was awful but the last 2, away at 2 of the top clubs have seen us almost win both...yes I know some fans expect us to win every game but in each game we have got better, obviously pre season didn't help but we're starting to find our feet now.
As Meast said its individual errors that's costing us, once we get that win we will gain confidence.
if by the halfway point were still struggling then maybe I might start questioning why the coach can't get the players playing but right now he's fine and the players need to step up !.

| We should be coming away with at least 8 points from the next 5 games and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we win all 5. If we were to continue this blip then I'd hope the club back Anderson as he's done remarkable in his time at the club and every team has a blip at some point, unlucky for us ours is at the start of the season but we're lucky in the fact that we have lots of games left to turn this around. I'm expecting a top 4 finish come the end of the season.

| i expected at least 1 win from the first block of 3 games so to get none was disaster.
4 wins from next 5 needed now if we are serious about a top 4 finish.
disagree about it being about performances, all about the win for me and thats what anderson will be judged on.
imagine if we lose to widnes at home next, pressure is on!

| I think you can stretch that to the next 6 games, and if we really are serious about a top four finish I would expect us to win 5 of the 6, but all the team's we face are very capable of beating us so selections and performances have to step up a notch. As for Anderson this is now his team and he has to get the best out of them. I have reservations about him at the moment but hope to be proved wrong.Too many players seem to be "undroppable" and allowed to get by on average at best performances, and the use of interchanges is often baffling. We seem to be on the whole a 5 drives and kick team hoping for a mistake, but we seem more dangerous and exciting when we move the ball. To be honest I'm more concerned we make the 8 at the moment which could be a problem if we don't start picking points up quickly.

| We are on the way to hitting some good form! We was unfortunate to come up short against what the stats showed are the team in the best form. Ref calls (luck), players messing around (disapline) are way cost us.
Of the next 5 games I would be ok with three wins. Four wins happy and five exctatic. Widnes, wakey, Salford with all respect are teams that we can beat if we play like we did against leeds minus the start. Cas looked rather good vs saints and orobably should have got more out of the game. And wire well...yeah one of the physical teams we don't seem to deal with.
To be honest the season for me will see us finish out of the four probably with hull FC and Catalans fighting to get in. And when we are broken up to the 8's I can see us struggling facing leeds wigan wide Saints ect week in week out. But this is a learning experience in the big games when the results have mattered we have struggled to match intensity in my opinion this will only get better by being in these games, as we get closer to the final four places bringing cemented in every point will matter.

| There's no such thing as an easy game anymore. I don't understand when we become a team that should be winning certain games.
If our players think this then we will lose more than we'll win.
Next 5 games and beyond are winnable, the more we win the easier the next one will be due to confidence.
The hardest test will be our next game.
Paul Anderson's job is safe. A few wins and a few more losses won't change this so early on in the season.
Stability is needed with this new structure.

| I'll disagree with a lot of you on this. He doesn't seem to have a plan b.
Yes we are only 3 games in but add the last 2 of last season and we have lost 4 on the bounce.
Teams have sussed us out, and we have no other ideas.
If we were to lose our first 6 games I'd say he has to go. I wouldn't complain if he went now to be honest.
He has done a good job but I feel he has taken us as far as he can with the capabilities he possesses.
I would like to see Purtill given a shot.

Widnes hammered Wakefield today and pushed Wigan very close in their first game of the season - they aren't going to be a pushover! I agree we've been steadily improving, but we need to continue doing so, or we could well be in trouble.

| We should always take every game as it comes, no point looking 5 or 6 games down the line and saying what we should be doing...it doesn't work like that, if we lost brough, Murphy, ta'ai,Wardle for example in the next 3 games through injury or suspension then we are struggling squad wise and would we really expect to win 3 games without those or any 3 or 4 1st teamers regardless of whom were playing. Let's take each game on its own merits.

| Brough-robbo alongside ellis murphy-broughton, taai-lawrence or Bailey playing 80, wardle-ferres with Bailey in at second row. Or connor with grix at FB
Don't think that's a struggle- and that's not even considering bringing in any of our youngsters!!!!

| Quote: Matt01 "If we don't win at least 3 out of 5 then Anderson should go, however we really should be winning 4 out of 5. That's Widnes, cas, wakey, Wire, Salford.
What do others think?'"
Widnes and Salford both had very impressive wins at the weekend.
Something we have failed to do.
Salford ripped hull to pieces we hardly looked like scoring a try.
Widnes destroyed Wakey.
We still need to improve a lot to win these games let alone taking anything for granted.
Realistic is two out five.
Good would be three out of five.
Optimistic would be four.

Perhaps he operates on the basis that one shouldn't be needed? This accusation gets levelled against coaches whose teams are underperforming on a fairly regular basis. I've read that Brian McDermott, Tony Smith, Shaun Wane and Lee Radford all lack a plan b - and that's just this season.

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |
|
| No team should need a plan B. Wigan were the most predictable side in the world 2 seasons ago. Get the ball to the opposition line, pass it out the back to Tomkins coming from deep, then dummy or pass to Charnley. Simple, one dimensional but when executed well virtually unstoppable. No plan B is a sound bite and as such is meaningless.
All good teams have a pattern of play. If it's well executed it's up to the defence to counter it. At this level it comes down to execution. Execute and you have a good chance of winning. Don't execute the plan and your chances of success are limited. When you have a plan that everybody buys into you put the emphasis on the other team to be better than you. The real key though is not letting failure get to you. If the other team balks you just go to the well again and again. Eventually the opposition will make a mistake and then you can capitalise. It's a battle of wills and the top teams have the patience to wait it out and then go for the throat.
