| rumour is the club have offered danny a 1yr deal for 2019..
thoughts??
plus side is that he certainly doesnt miss many games with injuries and can still perform...if not too the standard he used too be able to play at
also maybe the club dont really have a replacement in mind... if the rankin combination works this season it may be a good deal to keep brough for another year
still annoys me when he goes off on one at other players .... again against warrington the other night, going mad at rankin for missing a drop goal attempt... of it was the other way round would players react like that, no... did it when leeming dropped the ball too..dont like to see it , not good for the team spirit

| If he was to keep his head and not lose control then maybe, but we all know he won't and he'll lose it either with his team mates or officials or both, and gradually he is becoming less effective. Yes we still see occasional flashes but my own feeling is he can be as much of a liability when he loses it....it's a balancing act and i think the scales are tipping the wrong way...would love to be wrong!!

| Think he deserves to see his SL career out with us and still has the x factor with no ready made replacement just yet. He is still incredibly fit and is often our saviour in defence as well as our main kicker and play maker. Suspect his 1 yr extension will be to serve as a transition period - makes sense I feel.
He has given great service to the club and for me he still offers plenty. Agree that his temperament can sometimes interfere with his performance but take that away and he would simply not be the same player. Don't agree with the DB knockers and often wonder why he doesn't get proper recognition for what he adds. Too few real characters in sport these days with Danny being an obvious exception. Ask most oppo fans who would be only too glad to be playing a Giants team without our mercurial ace

| I think he’s not the player he was- but he’s still better than most out there in his position and certainly better than any other we currently have.

| Been one or the highest paid of ours ,not sure he is that good now but still worth having for his kicking game alone ,am sure the club will have done a deal that reflects that.

| When players like Brough lose there agility, speed and accuracy due to age they use there game management and intelligence to win games.
Players like Sinfield, McGuire, Briers did this to great effect. Hopefully Brough will do that too.
His track record recently on the pitch hasn't been great, and he's lost his head.
Sort it out Broughy and do what we know you can. Lead by example and end your time with us on a huge positive.

| I would like him signed for longer, so he can have a transition into a coaching role when the time comes. Players are playing longer these days, don`t know if that is down to full time or training systems but I believe he could do a good job in a coaching role for the young lads coming through.

Would he have the patience with the youngsters I wonder. Anyway Robbo has that job now.

And a very good job he's doing too, a 13-13 draw, coming back from 10-2 down, against last year's champions Wigan last night.

| Although he has been a great servant to the club and provided me with many happy memories i believe the right time to dispense with Brough's playing services is when his current contract runs out. Top clubs know when to call time on even the best and most loyal of players careers (i.e. McGuire at Leeds) Brough has been as often bad as good recently, and as someone else pointed out, most veteran players replace agility and speed with experience and guile, Brough does not fit this category. He is still as easy to wind up (if not easier) and goes to pot in high pressure situations. We should spend the very large sum of money we will be spending on his wages to attract a marquee young half. Many will say there are not those players around to obtain, this may be true, but the situation will be the same when he does retire, and we will have taken a risk on him not deteriorating futher which can happen very quickly once a player gets to the mid thirties.
