An airport?

We flew to Carcassonne last season. Direct train links with Perpignan (1-2hrs away) or minibus hire available if there's enough of you. We did this as well and the drivers were brilliant.
Carcassonne is a brilliant place to stay with some great bars, restaurants and hotels, the medieval city and a thriving rugby League culture centred on the Bar Felix in the main square. The RL club also has a decent souvenir shop away behind the station at their office.
Giants pennants etc up in the Felix from previous visits.
Give it a go.

Give over man Perpignan is a fantastic place and well worth the money and effort to get there !

Most local airports are no more than 2 1/2 hours by train away.

And when did they start doing flights to Canet? bloody hell we've missed them

Why don't the RFL say to Catalans RL play your games in Carcassonne or Beziers then to make it easier for UK fans seeing as Ryanair have dumped Perpig/Canet rip off Plage.

Imagine if they tell Huddersfield to play their games in Liverpool.....

Not sure what your point is,south of France is a 1 off trip for all north of England fans.

It's not exactly hard to get there and Beziers is not a patch on Perpignan, it's the Batley to our Huddersfield .

Those who do go every year have not 1 single complaint between them - and i include fans of every club i've spoke to !!

Perpig,it's just a difficult place to get to now Daz if you are being honest.

Maybe my gripe is with Ryanair,why if the Rip off de Plage beaches are so great,which they are why did Ryanair stop direct flights to boring Perpig,making it so much harder for RL fans to get to a game.

They stopped flying there because the people who owned the airport got greedy and started hiking up landing fees etc.
Like i said i've no idea what your gripe is but Perpignan or Canet are far, far from boring places

There are still direct flights albeit from Stansted or Birmingham but there are airports at Carcassonne, Girona, Barcelona, Montpelier, Nimes, Beziers and Toulouse that are all within easy reach of Perpignan (by transfer/hire car or train, we book the trains before we leave so its straight forward enough) and having done a few of them they're no trouble whatsoever, it's hardly hard to get to. Same with any away match there's an element of travelling involved, this one's just a bit further but 100% the best one of the lot !!

My point is you are being selfish- I'm sure the catalan fans dont want to travel 100km for a "home" game anymore than hudds fans would! It's a one of game for you- not for Catalan fans!

We are going to Perpignan this time

Don't need to worry on that front- I can't ever go unless it's school holidays.

Wanted to go to Perpignan - Canet beaches really ,a couple of weeks before we hit Jamaica but can't be bothered with it now,all the car hire shi'ite and accomodation.

Will the RFL wake up to the situation regarding fans getting out to Perpignan?
