| Ok, i'll probably get some hammer for this but just wanted to see what other people think.
Why have the club decided that having random noises or announcements during the game improve the gameday experience ?.
If its not RHP's voice over the microphone every 2 and a half minutes telling us in case we have forgot from last time who our sponsors are or his attempts at sounding like a boxing MC when announcing the players names etc its that silly Mexican tune - usually played when the ball is back in play and serves no purpose to me, We will rock you blurted through the PA system again at what seems to be random times of the game.
This along with music played as soon as a try is scored, drowning out any attempts of singing the crowd do try and make as there is no point so most of the crowd just sit down and let the music play. And Big G's banging of the drum to the same tune, then letting the kids spend 20 minutes 'freestyle banging' - i know this is a directive of the club and not something Big G himself chooses to do before anyone thinks i' having a go at him.
Maybe its just me and everyone else is fine with it but i personally think all this unnecessary noise has had an effect on what atmosphere there used to be as there seems to be something going off every few minutes which drowns out any crowd noise?.
Today just made me realise how utterly annoying all this noise is, and were we a passionate group of Ice Hockey fans it could work but were not and its cringeworthy to me ........ok , off ya go, shoot me down if you must !!

| I like the thing they've nicked from cricket.
My instinct is to shout "Yaaaay!" at the end!
The pessmism amongst our lot and apathy of the stay aways is not the best but I think that is partly reflected in the general mood of the population in what are less happy times economically and therefore generally.

| In film, the music is used to add atmosphere and depth to what is on show. Imagine Jaws without the buildup music?
What purpose does the mexican thing serve when it is way played after the goalline dropout and as the player returning the ball is tackled? My feeling is, if you are going to do it, then do it at the right time or not at all.

| it's rubbish daz,you know my feelings on the matter, especially the try music malarkey.
fair enough some people will probably like it and dance along like warrington fans but it's not for me.neither is blurting out random beats from we will rock you at random times during the game, it worked for bradford 15 years ago,it isn't and won't work for us!
the home matchday experience is near enough dead for me now, i hate to say it but i get no enjoyment whatsoever from attending a fartown home match now because of this, and the poor atmosphere, and not to mention the on pitch stuff too.

Totally agree with all of this. Particularly about the try music - this only serves to drown out the crowd and any attempt at chanting has no chance. Personally don't see the point unless it is to compliment the fans chants - given that the try music is completely random it just serves as an annoyance. Like Giant Daz I found this really frustrating today - it appears to be getting worse as the home crowd are just giving up trying to contend with it and are losing the battle.
Atmosphere was non existent today - something needs to change.
Can we please not try (no pun intended) to do without the try music for a while and see what happens? or find one tune to play that fans can respond along with at least (something different to that used at other SL clubs)? - and as I have said on here before please find some better walk on music as the team prepares to enter the field - whatever it is that is currently played is pants. We nee dsomehting more inspiring and catchy.
As for Big G and his drum - this sometimes does work to get the Giants chants going - but the random drum banging kids efforts should be stopped whilst the game is on.
As for the "we will rock you" snippets - totally cringeworthy - please STOP IT We ain't the Bulls!!!
RHP has done many good things - but could have a massive impact if the balance of what music and when it is played was improved

| Good grief do you lot ever stop bloody whining?
If they didn't do anything you'd complain they weren't doing owt, now they are doing something to lift the crowd you gripe about that
I sit with several people who are new to the game who like the music and "ole" and all that
The so called singing section (who did precious little singing today) don't get the crowd lifted, let the in try this instead

| and for years they didnt do anything and people were quite happy - the point i'm making is why all of a sudden do the club feel the need to do it ....i'll be honest it spoils my matchday experience and many others around me feel the same.

| If there was no music there would be deathly silence around much of the ground! We have to remember that a large majority of our crowd are youngsters and families. Whatever the club do (or don't do) there will be some that don't like it- can't please everybody- I suspect that what's being done now is as a response to what a proportion have given positive feedback to.
Some would argue they don't want to listen to inane chanting. Each to their own.
Instead of worrying about whether kids are banging drums or music is or isn't playing do what I do- concentrate on what's going on on the green stuff and celebrate (appropriately) however you see fit whilst others do the same.

This
Something needs to be done to make the match have more atmosphere. The fact gates are down and the crowd is spread out makes the atmosphere flatter.
If it was not for the Try music and me an Tansy chanting there would be no atmosphere in the Riverside stand.
Just sit back and complain everyone rather than looking at the reality of the situation. What else can be done to improve the atmosphere and get more fans in .
Oh let me guess you will all say there is nothing we can do except win some silverware. Bunch of bloody defeatists.

| And those sat around me think differently
Horses for courses
The club want to improve/enhance the game day experience, they might not get it 100% right first time but don't knock em for trying, and don't knock em just cos you don't like it.
Yesterday was a poor game to judge it on, a flat game where the only question was how much we'd win by
Lets see what it's like in a tough, hard fought game

| I don't like it. For example you could here a whisper of a Bruno chant after Lawrence scored, I am sure that would have grown if the music hadn't drown it out. However, for whatever reason fans have almost given up chants altogether this season. This could be the increase in music or the decrease in fans, but whatever people on here say most fans and players would prefer to hear chants over music. Kids like to dance to the music, but they also like to join in with chants. Players have said time and time again the fans help lift them. How much of a thrill would it have been for Lawrence to hear his nickname chanted by fans on his comeback? To be fair in our case there needs to be a balance. Maybe the club need to speak with fans like Tansey and those at the back of the Kilner bank who sing and see if they can figure something out.

i agree, RHP does over do it sometimes.
the 'we will rock you' was cringe and embarressing!
and when we score a try just to get drowned out by the music straight after a try
