| Is it just me or does anybody else think that, Having now watch 2 very poor half time periods at the john smith the club need to up there game.
Comments have been made in the media about our poor crowds but with a ht periods that at best can be described as amateurish we won’t attract new speccys to our games. I’ve started taking the son to a watch Town and they really do keep the crowd entertained throughout the HT period (probably to make up for the 2 dull 45 minutes either side of it). Things need to change Robby we need to get the half time period up to the same standard as the match which means the backroom staff need to be as professional as the players in their approach to game days.
as a guide for the club what do people want to see at HT?

| Tbh I'm usually busy queuing for the loos with the kids at half time- then have a catch up with a few folk on the way back to my seat!

| I've not seen any media about our "poor crowds"
Other than that what sort of "entertainment" do you want?
I personally don't care and I'd imagine not many do
Pre match might be another thing

| You'd hope there'd be enough entertainment either side of half time!

| To be honest I'd rather not have random entertainment at half time and become a new gimmicky club like the Bradford of old

| I get what you mean, even if it was junior rugby games, or the fan game they used to do, it wouldnt cost anything but would be a nice addition. I dont want crappy pub singers or anything like that. Does anyone remember the old car pulling days?

| I'm wondering whether they haven't done owt due to the state of the pitch. I did notice the cheerleaders where doing their routine on the sidelines last week.

| Think you could well be right Jools about the pitch.
Most of the youngsters who go are happy to meet Big G when he goes in their stand and I'd guess alot of the older fans do not care one way or another. Can not really say I have seen much memorable half time entertainment (well for good reasons) home or away and do not think it has much effect on crowd figures to be honest. I guess going totally OTT like the Bulls did is the only way to make a real difference but alianating the fans who care about the game not paying an X Factor reject alot of money to prance about for 5 minutes.
Sure use local celebrities for the half time draw etc and hopefully one day a Huddersfield "Bradley Wiggins" will come along who gives the club publicity and is a true fan.

Nail on head.
The issue is are we going to concentrate on the kids IE the supporters of the future and maybe the new fans, the kids and their mums and dads who come to the game or pander to those who hark on about the good old days of Fartown.
To me it is a no brainer.
We need to attract newer fans who have been brought up on computer games and a choice of 700 TV channels and make the GIANTS EXPERIENCE a little bit more than 80 minutes of rugby so that they want to keep coming back. Buying merchandise and SPENDING MONEY.
|I would rather 500 new fans than 100 old stalwarts ( and i put myself in the second bracket).

To be honest Big G is a massive selling point and perhaps getting him a side kick or doing something for the youngsters around him I would have no problem with.
X Factor rejects or Boy Bands are probably not the way to go but perhaps giant Spongebob Squarepants and the like are.

| Ridiculous queues last 2 home games re refreshments in main stand. Waited 10 minutes and went back to seat before second half started empty handed , with the money I was willing to be fleeced on, still in my pocket.
That's about minus £10 to club funds.

| Me too
I'd even put up with "ripping off the bulls/cougars" to get our average support over 10k
But wasn't all that done in pregame stuff?

I can see the point of making the day an event and we did to a degree last year with the inflatables and things outside, how effective doing things inside the ground from say 2pm would be in getting people in early is another matter but getting children down early and in the vercinity of the club shop is always likely to yeild results even if their parents might not be too pleased with such tactics
