What is the latest injury? We are paying a large amount for a non playing member of the squad. I rate him highly but has hardly played. Any news anyone?

it must be bad because there has been no mention of him at all for a few weeks now, i honestly believe we should let o donnell go, see how faalogo goes from now till end of year and if he can stay injury free then keep him as he has been one of the better performers imo, if not let him go too, let gilmour go to cas, release adam walker, tonks, dawson, peltier etc added to kev brown departure that leaves us with alot of cap space for anderson to work with...a new prop is a must

Simple, not a 1st grade player for the giants. Its part of the francaise you need young players within the squad. Sadly for english rl you dont have to play them! Cording, sarsfield and others wil be swopped for another batch of players on very poor contracts (saves money you see!)

Walker has done well when he's played imo. Was ace in Round 1 v Wigan.

I'd get rid of Luke O'Donnell now. Nothing against him personally but he's hardly played & is costing us a bundle. Truth be told, he's been a complete waste of cash. Hard to swallow but true & I'm not saying it's his fault but business is business.

difficult one cos when he plays he's a huge asset to the team........thats the problem though, WHEN he plays.

Surely if his injury problems are that bad is he worth keeping for the sake of half a dozen decent games a year?

Walker out on loan -personally of rather have him fairbank eorl and larne at prop-but coz we are paying big money to Gilmour, fooey and doof they are going in there.

You cannot simply get rid of a player who is in contract.
O Donnell is a quality player who has had a bad run with injury. There is still plenty of time this saeon for him to come back and when he does he will be a huge asset to the side.

If Adam Walker was any good you would have thought a better side than Swinton would have come in for him on dual reg. Nothing against him but on what i have seen he does not look SL standard.

I think i said at the time of the injury that a 6 month turn around for O'Donnell was speculative, knee reconstruction takes alot of time to fully recover and if a player isnt 100% then the injury can reoccur or other parts of the body can suffer as they compensate for the Injury. The hamstring for example has to be 4 times stronger than a 'normal' persons as the natural stability from a cruciate ligament is gone and this compensates. This is made harder by the fact that in most cases, the hamstring ligament is the one sacrificed to repair the knee. Its been 12 months since i had my knee operation, and i still tweak my hamstring doing silly day to day things!

O'Donnell is a great player, before his injury i was saying he was probably the best player i have seen in a Giants shirt. If he can get back to his level of fitness then great. Rugby players arent always done now at 31/32, look at Steve Menzies, i would much rather see O'Donnell in our side for the next 3 years than for Wire/Wigan/Leeds etc. Time will tell.

Yet he's been picked for the Exiles?!?!?

He must be better than you lot are making out, he's in the Exiles squad along with Michael Monaghan who hasn't played for ages.
