Despite the loss i am not downhrearted by the performanve.

I knew we would be rusty in attack with Brown coming back after a long time out and other players coming back which meant we lacked a bit of Rhtymn.

Defensively we looked really good i thought, running out of the line and putting them under pressure. Dissappointed in Grix's attempted tackle on LMS but other than that we looked pretty solid.

The big downers were O'donnells injury and i hoipe that Broughs is not too bad.

Not downhearted we will be better as the season concludes although unless we have a heatwave for the next 8 weeks we might struggle.

Afraid I am, we've been shocking with ball in hand, how many knock ons, forward passes, ineffective plays do we have, I've seen it at Wigan, Wire, Crusaders, Bradford, Saints, Cas, & Wakey - and all away from home!

Don't think we're good enough to break defences down, and then we try to score with silly kicks on 2/3 play the ball, trying to rush things that simply aren't there.

It's been happening for some time now and it's just not improving!

I'm not downhearted either really

We were rusty in attack that's for sure, but to counter that Saints defence was outstanding.

Our defence was damn good too, apart from the silly breakaway forwards try (which looked like it was dropped over the line, certainly we had a similar try disallowed by the VR the other week...and I've seen us have tried scratched off for obstruction like the ones they were given, anyhow)

It took us too long to realise we could go round them for my liking, and what is it about us that we can't play in rain, seriously...

3 games left, let's seal 4th spot but most importantly let's refind our best form.

Pretty much how i saw it over there, we were about effective as my chauffeurs sense of direction coming home, it was poor.

disappointing from my point of view ... we looked totally devoid of any attacking ideas in the final 3rd . we must have made more handling errors than any other side ... we just seem to drop the ball every 2nd set we have and seem to rely totally on a kick to try and score. very deflated again after yet another away defeat icon_sad.gif

Was it just me or has Brough lost his spark. Yes he still has the banana kicks and it got Huddersfield a try. But he just looked fed up from start to finish. Ok he was injured at the finish so you can understand that. I'm not saying he played badly, but he just seamed a little chuffed off.

His ankle is still not 100% right so maybe that had something to do with it !

we seem to lack any real spark in attack and the forwards dont seem able to get on a roll anymore, a few months back we were, rightly, feared and respected for our brutal defence and our forwards, now we are a shadow of that.
as others who were there tonight have alluded to, we played well first 25 minutes but just completely lost our way in the final 3rd.
we seemed to lack urgency as well as any creativity and too many players are playing with injuries/niggles and are off form and lacking in confidence.
it's a massive ask to get our season back on track, sadly i think we are spent now.
fair play to the 200 or so of us who made it over and once again gave the team good backing for most of it,shame we had nothing to cheer about again.

Fair enough.

I thought he originally was back earlier than he was supposed to be.

Do you think the Nathan Brown signing only season by season has anything to do with Huddersfields mid season dips. It does seam to be the same each year. There is a period of will he stay won't he stay and Huddersfield fall off the wagon and find it difficult to get back to the high points of early in the year.

Good news for the rest of the league is this pattern is set to continue next year as he just refuses to nail down more than a year at a time.

We were keen & enthusiastic. Our commitment couldn't be faltered. On the whole our defence was OK.

We had no on-field organisation.

We seemed to lack a game plan.

We seem to lack on-field leadership.

We do have people who have the power to break a defensive line but for some reason either don't know how to, have not been coached how to, been told to run at different angles so they can't, or get the ball at a too-early receiver.

We have no-one with that 'little bit extra', someone who with a magic touch who can ignite a spark of individuality, someone who is unpredictable.

The term 'headless chickens' springs to mind.

God it was painful watching our attack, little to no structure, players picking wrong lines, halves taking wrong options, and afraid to pass the ball when there was a possibility of an overlap. How many times did we go to the kick behind their 'd' line early in the count.Saints had no trouble with our moves, they read them like a book we were that predictable.

The galling thing was that we dominated Saints in the strength battle,it seems like we when we get one aspect of our game right, the other aspect drops away and vice versa.

Thought Luke R. was outstanding in most of what he did,Jerry made his usual tough metres,(shame the one error led to a try),Doof had a good spell in half 2,Fooey good defensively.Maybe we should get the ball to the Fooster more when in the op red zone,he can make things happen, while at the mo some of the others are struggling.Anyway changes for next week as Broughy looks like he's out for another spell.

Also if decoy runners hang around in our line, run into them, had we done that 2 of their tries would have been chalked off.

Suppose the pressure if off now in terms of a top 4 finish, maybe they can relax a bit more and get some self belief back.

just to pick up on what IVOR said about receiving the pass.
is it just me or has anyone else that our forwards dont seem to run onto the ball from a backwards pass? by that i mean charging in from a few metres out so that are at pace when receiving, they seem to almost receive a flat pass from a standing position, from where we were behind the sticks last night you could see this clearly, the forwards have got no momentum when hitting the line.
another thing, i think it was gahan i said it to at the game, we seem to run towards opposition defensive line in a kind of arcing run rather than straight on,whats that all about?
in terms of where we were at the start of the season we are miles away from that now.
