I think with all the players signing contracts in the last couple of weeks it was obvious they would only do this if they knew who the coach was for next season.

I was saying this only last sunday, players dont sign long extensions not knowing who the coach is going to be next year, shame it isnt a 3yr deal but i'll take 1 for now |

Exactly. I said the club and the players knew who the coach was and it would be either Brown or Anderson.
A new coach would have new ideas and would not be tying down players before he had chance to assess the team.
A player would be reluctant to sign if he did not know who the coach was as he may not fit into a new coaches plans. |

A couple of the recently announced signings had been completed weeks ago, long before NB had made his mind up. Also most players are signing up for 3 or more years while NB is doing one more year. I think there is recognition by the players that the Giant are a quality club.
That said I am sure this announcment will massivey boost the players and everyone can now focus on silverware in 11 and 12..the best way to help get NB a head coach job in the NRL. |
