i liked Tom, thought he had a lot of potential at one point...i think under the current coaching regime they would have managed to turn him into a cracking little player !

I think a few of our kids at that time suffered from poor development and coaching.

And when they did get into the first squad they were given a crappy deal. Bolu especially I remember watching him and it was obvious the guy was a fantastic athelete, and a natural loose forward. But when he got into the first team he was thrown in as a hooker and clearly wasnt used to playing in such a pivotal position and his passing and distribution werent up to it. Ball in hand though he was a dynamo...but never given chance to develop.

I also think its a case that in this squad currently young players have a wealth of talent to advise them, coach them and even to give them some protection in games. We simply didnt have that luxury back then.
