| It sems nailed on that Brett is leaving at the end of the season and obviously we are all dissappointed.
BUT
until then Brett wears OUR shirt, he is OUR full back, He is OUR captain and we should all get behind him.
I do not know him or his reasons for leaving. Probably financial and no one can blame him. It will be his last contract before retiring and good luck to him.
But i am sure that he is a consumate professional and a proud man who will do everything he can this season to win some silverware for OUR team.
He was as proud as punch to win the MOS and will be trying 110 % to win the CC and the Grand Final this year for OUR club.
So for the rest of the season cheer him, applaud him, admire his skill, remember the great memories as the best player to wear the C&G that 99% of us have ever seen and lets work together for OUR team for the rest of the season.
Next year when he is playing for Wire we can boo him and remember how much better he suited C&G.

| ATEOTD he owes the club nothing, why shouldn't he take the best offer. He's a profesional player and it's not like he came through the ranks. He's been here two years and has given 100% in every game. I'll cheer him while he still wears a claret and gold shirt and I'll clap him when he plays against us in whatever colour shirt that is because it's been a pleasure watching him week in and week out.

| Totally Agree - this guy has been a massive part of what this club has achieved in the past couple of years and like it has been said owes the club nothing.
No one can deny that BH gave everything week in week out for this team so why people want to boo him or get on his back for doing what's right for him and his family is ridiculous.
We should be honoured that we have had the pleasure of seeing a player like Brett in the Claret & Gold and because of his input into this club in his time here it will probably mean we will see players of the same if not better calibre of the club coming in the future because people like BH have made this club noticable in world RL.
I cant believe people are thinking of turning against him because he has chosen to play for a different team !

"His form's outstanding so we offered an extension for a year," said Giants managing director Richard Thewlis.
"He wanted the security of two years which we were not prepared to do at this stage so we gave his manager permission to explore the market."
Hudds didn't give him what he wanted an let him go look elsewhere.

| Just unfortunate that he was in RL Weekly saying he would not sign for another Superleague club other than Huddersfield recently.

Maybe he was paying lip service to the fans in the press when he already knew what would be happening and then ask someone to lie on your behalf so to make you look in a better light.

| This could prove to be a fabulous bit of business.
Brett has been fantastic and though getting more injuries will go ok to the end of the season.
He is however at the end of the day getting on for a back.
I remember a number examples of great players leaving clubs when at the time it seemed like Madness yet ultimately it was a great decision.
For example Ellery Hanley - Wigan to Leeds, Shaun Edwards, Martin Offiah. All legends of the game who never did it on a consistent basis after leaving a club.
Good luck to Brett I say and well done to the club for releasing this.
I will support him as long as he plays for the Giants. Why wouldn't anyone. In life you have to look after yourself.
Plus lots of lovely salary cap money to buy Amos Roberts from Wigan or Billy Slater from Strorm (in my dreams !)

| i will definately still be supporting brett this season for us cant see any reason why not, plus i also agree with the clubs offer of only a 1 year extension to me thats enough to be offering a player of his age

Very Good post and agree with everything you said fella, Brett is positionally fantastic, great thinker and reader of the game and great influence but ATEOTD he will be 33 before he plays a game for Wire, he was never the quickest for us and legs are shot, also starting to pick up the little niggles that will only get worse.
Depends on his replacement but could be a very clever move cos to give him 2 years and find he shot after 6 months would be suicidal.
