| my own oppinion is he is not the type of player we need or should want, anyone can look good in a team that is average, if DB was as good as people would have you think why havn't one of the cash rich clubs or even a club from Oz been chasing him

| I think it would be a big risk but when it comes to team selection and management i would rather trust Thewlis and Brown than my judgement.
The kicking game is what seperates the better attacking teams from the rest.
Brough is the best all round kicker in SL IMHO. he could take us on to the next level with the kicks that break down teams like Saints etc.
If we had to sacrifice players to make way for him i could live with certain players going. Again i would have to trust the Giants judgement on this but i would not be happy if Raleigh was one of them. I also think that losing other key players such as Griffin and Kirmond would be a mistake.

The average players clearly do not look good in an average team. Usually in a very good team an average player can look good becaue of the talent around him.
Brough has a brilliant kicking game + a very good skillset for a 7. I would like someone with these skills at the Giants. Whether this be Brough or another player matters little.
However these players are often s / difficult. If Nathan is confident he can deal with a player, that is plenty good enough for me.

| The Giants wont pay anything other than the fees for young tranfered players - which is a rule of the game.
By going public with press releases wakey have made an ar5e of themselves. If a deal does not go through Brough and wakey are in a sticky position.
What has happened re Cooke? Ted Richardson says the deals are not connected. Which may be true. Surely they want Cooke asap?
Wakey and HKR delays on sorting a deal
Wakey and the Giants delays on sorting a deal
Common denominator.....wakey

| I hope this is the end of the matter now while the end of the season. It has been a mess since the story broke with rumour mongering, spreading and plain bullsh*tting in some cases. It is also clear that some people take themselves and farcical situations such as the last few days far too seriously. They need a chance to calm down, get over themselves and begin to come to terms with their own status. Go get your toys, put the dummy back in and pretend you've won whatever it is you need to win!
Some of us know a farcical situation when we see it, don't take it quite so much to heart and thus don't wind ourselves up quite so tight as a result.

| Let us try and keep this one back on topic. The issue is
Do we need Brough or not and if we do should we let anyone go to fit him in.

I really do rate danny!!!!! he is probably the best scrum half in the modern game at present, but his general attitude is something that concerns me, i am a cas fan,, and wouldnt want him back at the jungle. soley for that reason, he his far too arrogant for a team sport especially a good unit like huddersfield, he could break the shell round the egg... but thats just my opinion...

And thats my point as well! DB is a good player but im not willing to let my 10 year old look at him like he is the savior of Huddersfield Giants when all i have seen is Brough go from club to club with a number of reports of drunken behaviour and general bad behaviour as a club we started the season on a very negative note re: training camp claims, lets not keep the controversy band wagon running.
i do think Browny will make his own choice as to if he think the team will benefit from ihaving DB in it. and this choice i will respect he's done well up to now, but is DB worth the likes of kirmond - who scored a number of crucial tries last year, or Aspy who is IMHO playing the best rugby of his short Giants career,
no mention has been made of the young lads we bought to play at scrum half or the fact that Drewy did a job in the position for both us and wakey.

| Martin Offiah has (on Twitter) called Danny Brough - the missing link for Huddersfield that will lead to trophies.
I disagree entirely with this - I think we already have a squad to be competitive in this league and it comes down to belief and taking chances - look at games we lost last season in the league and still finished 3rd. Add into that that we are Warrington were the only teams who played every week from February to October - it's depth we need.

| Don't really know whether I'd want Brough to come or not, his reputation goes before him and I'd hate him to come (good player or not) and destroy what looks to be a tremendous team spirit at the Giants. Only N Brown and the powers that be can make the decision as to whether we want him or not, and I'll trust the club to get it right, they've got every other signing right so we can't argue with that. It's just a pity that if this transfer does come off it will be done under a cloud/speculation, just like his career has been up to press.
If he comes he comes if he doesn't who cares, I really couldn't give a monkeys.
At least with all the drivel being spouted by the Wakey fans it's keeping there minds active and keeping the move to the new ground in Never Never Land out of the spotlight. Good ploy by their chairman I think

| thought this post was about brough and not wakeys ground which i for one dont care less about, im not sure about brough for all the reasons others have stated, but nathan has said we need a better kicking game ever since he came to the club and i think hes right thats why fulton came last year and the main reason we tried to sign carney, so for that reason to me for us to take the next step brough does appear to be the answer. as for his attitude im sure brown is confident he can sort that out otherwise he wouldnt be trying to sign him. dont really want to see anybody go other way and from what i hear none of the players do either, so would be suprised if a deal happens before the end of season, but you never know depends how much wakey want cooke i suppose.

| It'd be nice if Nathan signed an extension to match Brough's contract if he does come, so he can keep him in line.
