Important? I think so, ever since Wembley I've thought we've got a chance to win this again. I remember winning it 2 years ago and it was an amazing evening. For some it's just a "hubcap" which detracts from how well a team have performed over the season and for me I want Giants to win it. Bugs me when people say it's not important, it's usually the teams that haven't won it.

And obviously I want Giants to win at the grand final too!

Personally I think there should be more importance attached to winning the league, whoever wins it on Friday has proved to be the best team over the whole season. Whoever wins the Grand Final will be the best team over 2 games.

SL champions are those that win at OT.

That is the only thing that counts.

WE now have to find back to back 80 minute performances.

In the semi and in the final.

Everything else is irrelevant.

Next week is irrelevant if we dont follow it up with two perfect performances.

Whilst the LLS gets you a WCC gig. I cannot see Wigan losing against CAS so it is a distraction. OT is the only target IMHO

Agreed it is. But a home tie in the semi's would go a long way to helping. To finish top which would be nice, we need Wigan to lose or draw and we better their score f/aa, by 21 at the moment. what I think will happen is we beat Leeds and Wigan win too, its then round 2 back at ours for the rhinos. I know cas are playing well but Wigan will be smarting after last night. Saints can only hope for 3rd at best, bar some mathematical miracle.

Having said that going back to the post above, we need 2 80mins AFTER next week to win the bloody thing. #COYG!!!!

I would love to win it again, it's a trophy/prize/achievement call it what you want but every little bit of success can only be a good thing for our club and our supporters .

It is also worth more prize money now - equal to the CC.

Not only that but it's likely that if we win we would have Saints at home, on a Friday night! A home semi final could be the difference between our beloved Jerry signing a new contract or not! Money talks and should we managed to get 10,000 at the JSS it would make a massive difference!

Getting too and winning the GF would be worth more money, more fans longer term, and showing players that yiu can come to the Giants and get a medal in your cabinet.

Some Leeds fans suggest playing a weakened team against us and then putting everything into the semi.

I would not agree with that for us BUT it is about doing what needs to be done to win the big prize.

THere should be no distractions.

OT and the SL champions should be the priority anything else is a bonus.

Pressure's on. I think you'll have to go for it next week. Win and you might end up with the LLS. But lose and you might well end up with a repeat fixture against Leeds but with you as the away team. Can't see how a defeat next week can be viewed as anything but potentially disastrous, quite apart from whether it clinches you the LLS.

Win next week and go for the LLS. Winning breeds winning and continuing our winning run will only add to the possibility of a Grand Final appearance and becoming Champions. If I were the other teams in the play offs I wouldn't want to play us as we are on form and have momentum going into the play offs and playing us at home would make it even harder for the team who we'd be playing.

Who'd have thought as little as 5 years ago that little old Huddersfield would be scrapping it out with the big boys on an even playing field for winning the LLS again with a real chance of not only appearing in a GF but with the real possibility of winning the damn thing and it not being a shock or upset (apart from if you are that prat Garry Schofield)

A trophy is a trophy. If that be the GF or the flood lit 7s. Obviously some are bigger than others but you play the game to win as much as you can.

absolutely, it means you are the best team and most consistent team over the season, i don't care what Leeds or Wigan fans think, to me it's an achievement, especially with our fanbase and finances compared to those 2,
plus it's a guaranteed WCC place so yes it's massively important

however, winning the semi final is more important.
